The axle weights recorded during a CVRT can be a work of fiction.
Test 1
Axle 1 1613kg Axle 2 1729
Test 2
Axle 1 1506kg Axle 2 1486
Both tests 19 days apart, vehicle with exactly the same load.
Test 1 is maybe closest to reality
🤔🙄

I'd noticed that about my last few tests too , numbers all over the place, the older my van gets the lighter it seems to be getting,in fairness I've been using fat free diesel and water in it 😁

I got a yellow low brake pad warning light last week but on strip down the inside of each disc was like this, that explains why I had to put a lot of pressure on the pedal to stop ✋

You will have some improvement on the brakes once you have those replaced.

Bought and installed a Maxair Delux fan vent in place if the airconditioner. It does things quietly all on it's own. No need to stretch and rummage for the remote.

Nextbase GW622 Dashcam

As some of you know I’m heading off to some new to me countries in September and I thought I would invest/waste some money, on a Dashcam. I have specs and prices to a minefield for someone with no previous knowledge in this area.
Believe it or not I got one quote for €4500 plus vat for an all singing 360 degree system fitted and found ones that you could plug in to the cigarette lighter point for about €20.

In the end I went with a fairly good spec front view system, not hard wired with a 64GB sd card for €269 minus an extra 10%. I bought it from Nextbase themselves as they offered the cheapest price.

I hope I don’t need it.

I did like that I can add cameras to the system and also get it hard wired if I choose to.

Jamie are you aware they are illegal in some countries?

I am aware that they are illegal in some countries, human rights, the right to privacy etc etc.

I can unclip the head unit from the screen if I have to but I intend to keep it on and claim ignorance if I’m ever challenged.

The only privacy I want to invade is anyone messing with my van.

My dashcam has been in place all the time, including in countries where it's illegal.
I had an incident in Spain once but never mentioned to the police that the event was recorded. I did send the recording to my insurance who paid 100% of my claim with no effect on my renewal price.
The dashcam has GPS which proved the exact time and location, plus my speed which was only about 20kmh iirc.
I would never have a dashcam without GPS built in, being able to prove you speed (if it's beneficial to your case) is a vital card to hold.

I bought ONE OF THESE well over ten years ago, probably fifteen. It has served me well and provided a full record of an incident in Spain that resulted in damage of about €2k which the other parties' insurance paid up 100%.
I paid something like €65 at the time and it was the best €65 I ever spent.
BTW, the interior view camera can be turned off if you don't want to be recording what's happening inside the vehicle.
