It's been near constant here since Tuesday night... 2-4-6 inches and with the wind it's now blown it into 2ft accumulations over one side. Outside pipe is re-freezing every couple of hours too... Can't say they've gotten it too far wrong for us!

About 9 inches here with big drifts. About a metre outside my front door at a best guess. Hard to see exactly from the bed😆

In fairness, I think ME made the right call, if they hadn't said to stay indoors there could have been lives lost, its very localised, some roads have massive drifts and are impassable, others have only an inch or two.
In the UK people are having to be rescued after traffic jams.

In Scotland the motorway was blocked after the Red warning was issued , some of them were only going down the road and didn't believe there was a problem ,only to be stuck in less then an hour for 12 to 18 hours.

It wont kill you to believe , but it might not to .

I think that's a guy doing work in the lighthouse. He was there for a couple of weeks earlier in the year also. Hope he has a few good books and warm blankets.

You could be correct , but wouldn't you thing he would be parked up somewhere nice and tidy, like in the walled yard within the compound .

They probably wouldn't want him on the premises after hours, especially if he's a sub contractor. "Health and safety" naturally. If it were me I'd prefer to be out where he is rather than behind the wall.

Still snowing here. Over 24 hours non stop, thank God it's only falling lightly.

Snow mushroom?

A couple of shots of the R430 outside my house

The dark spot under the trees in the last picture is a bloke on his way into the Council Office to man the phones. He has about another three miles to walk before a jeep can pick him up. I'm still trying to decide if he should get a medal or be comitted to the nearest psychiatric ward.

No he's fine where he is. If there was a Southerly storm he'd get a bit of spray washing the van.

Well folks, it is pissing rain here in Portlaoise, washing the snow away. 10 inches last night to 2 inches of slush now.
I was supposed to bring the MH away this weekend with a few mates to watch a couple of rugby matches in Waterford city in peace but obviously the weather got in the way.
Surprisingly the MH is not empty tonight. The co pilots best mate is a nurse who has got only 8 hours sleep over the last 3 days of work is now tucked up in our MH with her husband while their 3 kids are asleep in our living room because she wanted a holiday to recover from her hugh effort to keep the show going.
Our little effort for the hardships endured by frontline staff over the last few days.
I think that a fry up in the morning is in order.

Hi guys. What are the roads like now, we are getting off at Rosslare tomorrow and heading towards Belfast. I’m assuming the main routes are ok?

Good weather me arse. It’s shite here in Carne Since 2pm cloudy with a thin wind. Heavy mist now. Real heavy. I’ll give it a couple of hours in the morning and if no improvement, I’m out of here. Never seen it like this and sunshine in Wexford 20 miles, max, away

It was very murky round Newry this morning but decent on the north coast if a little breezy. Supposed to get better over the next few days but the East coast may get some sea mist/fog in the morning so give it some time to burn off.
