Not sure but I reckon they could/would. It says you can tether so it maybe ok if you don't hammer it, but it then says you can use up to 1000GB a month, doesn't make a lot of sense.
I went looking as I went to purchase a contract phone from them on the one plan and there is an option to add a tethering bundle for £5 per month, yet the one plan has tethering. Think I'll call into a three shop.

Good luck in the shop as some of them seem to be Poundland rejects! I asked specifically for a sim for the mifi and they sold me one even though all of their mifi's use standard sims they managed to supply a micro only sim!

After a long conversation with Three on "live chat" I ordered a phone on the one plan. According to them as it is on the one plan it has up to 1000 GB a month and that includes tethering.

No more roaming charges! No more Data charges ! :)

Tried to look at pay monthly on the one plan ,sim only, as I've just had an email from O2 about a further rise in line with inflation. My head is too melted to change at the minute but I must ask in the area what the coverage is like.
With adding the BlackBerry Internet service at a 5.00 to the 15.00 package I won't save a lot and as I'm not a heavy user, the only advantage is in the south.

Got that email also, price increase again. o2 seem to think up charges. I was meant to get charged a maximum of £2.99 for 24 hours of data roaming, I got charged £3.69

Paul, why not drop blackberry and buy an android phone to save the extra charge. Use the online coverage checker to see what it's like.

Fc, I don't like change, and keep my phones for about 7 - 8 years. I used blackberry since 2002 and bar the problem a few years ago I've never had a problem. I use the BlackBerry tablet and use blackberry bridge which tethers and shares all info with and on the phone, eg calendars, BBM, contacts,texts etc. As well as the phones Internet. Don't know if bridge would be recognised as tethering but was planning to go for one plan which allows tethering. On top of the rate of inflation rise on O2, I see they stopped an incentive discount worth 5.00 a month about 8 moths ago
Now all I need is the time and will power to ditch them. I'm only with them about 2 1/2 years having been with Vodafone on an old contract for 13 years. When they finally refused to continue the contract or give another similar I left.
Phone contracts have got like car insurance, you have to change at the end of any contract period, gone are the days when the fought and offered incentives to keep you.

Twice as fast as the Galaxy S4 apparently.

You have me thinking along the same lines as I am fed up with EE and getting at present 283k down and 988K up. Need to test the mifi for speed at the house.

How much are you paying for the one plan and did the phone cost anything?

Phone was £19, they had a sale on Xperia's for the last week or two, it's now £49 up front.

One Plan £38 a month.

If I could just get a bit more speed I would ditch the home phone and broadband and go fully mifi. Would an external aerial help?

Thought it was the sim but turns out the phone was faulty, they are sending out a replacement.

Got replacement phone on Tuesday after letting them know on Saturday it was faulty. Seems good enough to me!

TetheringHotspot enabled on phone from pc and just did a speed test.

I am so tempted, but think using a phone sim in the mifi on a contract just to use the data could prove troublesom not only with the telecom company but also the signal, can you get a phone that allows a booster aerial or something to improve things.

A network provider can install a thing in your home that boosts the signal, not sure how they work or how much they are as I have never seen one but I do know they exist.

When roaming your "All you can eat Data" is restricted to 2 gig a month.

No such thing as a free lunch, it's all you can eat in UK/Ireland where ever you have taken your contract out. The cost of data roaming with the likes of O2 etc is horrendous so it's still a good deal.

Bit misleading, their website says when using "Feel at home" you get 25GB a month while roaming.

EU Parliament voting to scrap roaming charges :
Roaming charges on calls, text and mobile data could become a thing of the past. The European Parliament is today expected to vote in favour of ending roaming charges across the EU by December 2015.

Aly, can you tether in ROI with 3?
I'm getting different info from them one adviser has said tethering is only available in UK on all tarriffs

Yeah, I have done it with no probs.

You need the "One Plan" which comes with all you can eat data.

In the Three shop they told me that when roaming you are limited to 2GB a month, but I seen on there website it was 22GB a month!

2GB is loads so I never queried it further.

Is the one plan the only thing that allows tethering? I don't use the phone much and just looking to the craic map on a tablet when on the move in north & south as cheap as possible.
