Shocked, disgusted and angry

We stayed in brittas bay south carpark last night...great spot for an overnight and only 4 euro entry, the council turn a blind eye to motorhomers and it doesn't seem to be abused......well that is till last night

We were joined by 2 N.I Van's and lovely people to say the least......then an Irish rental motorhome rocks in and parks to my left.....fine no issues even though a bit loud but they were 2 couples in late 20s or early 30s so allowed for that. I was awake 6am and had dogs out for a pee etc and all seemed well....took a pic of the 4 Van's parked up. I then got back and had brekkie and the rental van occupants were getting ready to leave which they did after doing various things inside and out of their van...wasnt really noticing tbh. So....they had left and I took dogs outside again for a stroll and I looked over and nearly puked...the dirty b******s had emptied their cassette onto the adjoining parking spot and the worst of it on the grass just ago back of van.

I immediately took pics and rang the hire company, I know it's not their fault but they needed to know the kind of toe rags they rent too. The guy was very apologetic and annoyed and said he would contact them immediately....I hope he did as I sent pics to confirm it was his MH etc and the sh*t strewn in the parking space....

I honestly cant believe these arseholes exist...pity I didn't spot it before the pulled off as I would have called the police. Some poor council worker will have deal with that mess not to mention the hazard to health

That's exactly the kind of sh1t (literally) that can give motorhoming a bad rep.

Makes me wonder though, what are the intructions given to renters regarding emptying black waste, doubt it would be just fling it out behind the van before you leave.

The fines will be up to the hire company I would imagine in a similar fashion as speeding offences.

Anyone who is old enough to drive a campervan is also old enough to realise that you do not dump your sh it for someone else to have to clean up.

Well if you had a picture of the 4 vans, then that will surely identify them to the rental company. Hopefully they get reprimanded at the very least by the rental company John.



I think in fairness they knew what they were doing was wrong.

Did they not even think that what they were doing was scummy and that maybe if they were determined to dump it there, at least dump it in a bush where it might never be noticed?

I'm hoping to hear back tomorrow from the rental company...I'm sure these cnuts will deny everything but the camera evidence is there and I have another motorhomer from Belfast who witnessed it.

Report them to the Co Co, it's not like they're not going to find it, at least demonstrate that the broader motorhome community won't stand for this behaviour. The rental companies take a hefty deposit, as much as I'd like to go all old school puppy training and stick their noses in their mess, a hefty fine would be some consolation.

The scumbags who dumped this toilet probably had no problem having a fresh dump outside before they left.
It would be great to be in a position to name and shame.

Shows the type of people they are, to do it in the first place is disgusting enough. To do it in a public place where other people will be later on that day without even trying to hide or conceal it is worse.

But those two things combined with doing it beside other motorhome owners who would obviously know full well who done it, shows their complete disregard for any other human other than their selfish selves.

I hope I don't know anyone with a brass enough neck for that.

Motorhome Council is currently preparing documents for new Motorhome owners that we hope dealers will hand out and also for renters to hand out. It seems however, this level of scum would wipe their arse with it.

Pass on full information to the Gardai and the Co Council. It's their sort that get us all a bad name and help those who want to force us to use campsites or give up motorhomes. The cost of the cleanup should be sent to the hire company and they can take it from the credit card used to hire the van. Follow it through to the bitter end.

I'm sure all the hire company's have a way if tracking where their vans are so the Garda/ Council / litter warden where ever they currently are can have words with them.
Did the renters say if the van was starting or finishing their time.
A clearer detail of the reg , make and rental company would help for anyone in the southeast to keep a eye out for them.?

That's disgraceful and saddening.
Its a real indictment of some people that they can think that this is OK.
I'm having fun and that's all that matters F the rest of society.
