The schematic for the E220 shows a current measuring shunt, so now no doubt the unit should display accurate current draw. Although it is always nice to confirm with a multimeter if something is not right.

Dave,
Recently whilst in a Hymer with a friend he noticed that any time he checked the batteries his display would show -0.03a of a draw, he didnt pay any heed on it, but it got me curious (as you do) but from checking with the metre it was using the 03a to do the test, and in his case no bother,

I would expect 0.03 draw as the system is monitering itself , but mines 0.20 , Solar panel arrived today , opened it about 10 mins after delivery , totally shattered so now the fun begins trying to get replacement

Doesn't look like it, GLS say no breakage reported, courier followed me into driveway and I was unloading the car so just signed for it without checking, although I probably wouldn't have checked anyway like most people, it took about 5 minutes to unwrap don't think the courier would have been happy waiting around, but lesson learned, check fragile stuff no matter how well its wrapped and it was well wrapped but hit by something hard on the frame and shattered

GLS are a shower of c**ts don't let them away with it,
You say the courier wouldnt wait for me to check it.

When I used to work for a company sometimes I would sign for parcels for other departments and always signed and added unchecked with the signature

Breakages should be very uncommon during shipping. Wherever that broke in the supply chain, I’d imagine whoever was involved just waived it on. Give them stink. Don’t accept it.

Speaking to the supplier at the moment, will see how that goes, then get on to PayPal, early days yet, GLS having nothing to do with it as I didn't check on delivery

If you used your credit card to pay for it you have rights and the cc company must comply. You didn’t receive the item as expected. You can demand a refund from Visa or whoever.

Glad you got sorted,
Good on the supplier also 👍🏻👍🏻

Now Dave,
I would beg you to send a nicely worded email to the GLS customer service Dept (if you can find it) and let them know what kinda circus they are operating 😳

In fairness, any parcel I ever received, I never opened it in front of the courier. And those guys are always busy and off in a hurry. Still, they should have a policy to deal with this.

Maybe they just try to give the impression that they're always busy, rushing off to the next victim so they don't have to deal with broken items...

Solar panel won't solve original problem Alfie, so back on original topic, I haven't found fuses bigger than 40A to check battery to battery drain but I'll have to read through everyone's posts and check things again now that I have electrics accessible

So wrong, have you seen the way things are handled! I work for a courier company and the amount of stuff we get in that would make a good jigsaw puzzle is unbelievable, it usually comes down to poor packaging. goods are handled multiple times and even if it is marked fragile there is no guarantee that it would be handled any better. Standard terms of carriage do not cover glass which a solar panel comes into. On top of that Dave gave GLS a clear signature, always sign unchecked and if the courier doesnt want to let you do that then insist that the goods are inspected before he leaves.

I was looking at the schematic again, comparing it to the Ebl 220 front panel and trying to figure out where connector E20-3F is. I eventually figured it must be on the back of the unit. I trawled the internet looking for pics of the back of the unit. I found something that would confirm the E20 connector at the back, which is where your batteries connect.

If you want to confirm that your battery isolation is working, stick you voltmeter probes across the two positives. With engine running both batteries should be connected and your voltmeter should read 0 volts. With the engine stopped, the isolator relay should open and disconnect the batteries from one another. This will most likely result in a reading of at least a few tens of millivolts or more. And if you want to disconnect the starter battery from the Electroblok, you should be able to disconnect it’s 60Amp in-line fuse on the cable running back to the starter battery.
