Camper being collected friday after all necessary works have been completed.
Since it was taken in in October, this will be the first time i have driven it.

Total work done,
1. Diagnose engine/Emission fault.
2. Tidy front and rear corner panels.
3. Replace rear O/S and N/S floor from underside and fit extra cross members to support rear floor.
4. Repair hole in front O/S wing.
5. Fabricate steel to replace corroded structure on O/S Door step.
6. Fabricate steel to reinforce front cross member.
7. Replace front O/S Steel brake pipe.
8. Repair fuel lines (Leaking).
9. Replace front exhaust clamp and rubber.
10. Refit rear O/S helper spring into original holding.
11.Replace Engine with 2nd hand 1992 1.9td diesel from East Coast Camper
12. New water pump and kit.
13. Timing belt kit
14. New Fuel pump
15. New thermostat
16. New Starter Motor

Total overall spend: € 3650.

That means the paint job is now put on hold till after Christmas.
However, if this means I will be driving trouble free, its a small price to pay.

Great to hear you got the Van back ,even if its more then you would have liked to have had to spend before Christmas , still you would not have got a replacement van for that money , hopefully now when you turn the key you can relax, in the knowledge that you are not driving around someone else,s problem.

Well done and a Happy Motoring new year.

Great that you are bak on the road. Bummer to have to spend so much but hopefully she'll be on the button for ages and be good for the nct for many years.
You'd prob spend it on a holiday for two in the sun and that would be all over in 2 weeks. Years of fun ahead!
Great Christmas present to yourselves!

Excellent!

Big investment alright, but then again you know your van, you know exactly what's done to it and that should give you a piece of mind when you're out and about, which makes the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Sounds like you know have a van for years and years to come :)

Great to see ye are back on the Road Guys and hope all your problems are behind ye

It might sound like a lot of money but ye got a hell of a lot work done for it, we were quoted around €450 to replace a day time running light on the front of the Car recently, I ordered a spurious one from China for €20 including postage on E bay. I am going to take my chances with it.

:D Thanks Pat,
i bought the parts in from Poland, all perfect match for the engine, so saved a fair bit there.
Just want to get out in it now

It really pays to shop around for parts, the Poles are passionate about anything automotive and they import a lot of parts from Ireland too, they buy old vans here, fill them with parts drive home and scrap the van as well for parts.

Great to see you back moving Nidge!!

Seems like a lot of money but in the grand scheme of things Motorhoming, it's not really that much (that's what I'd keep telling myself) you should have years of enjoyment out of it now!

Happy travels

Great to hear that you are back on the road. That a fair whack of money for repairs but hopefully the mechanical gods will look down upon you favourably now. They will organise good weather, safe travels, cold beers and good craic for every trip.
