Larne - Giants Causway - Portrush - Derry/Londonderry - Letterkenny - Downings - Falcarragh - Slieve League - Sligo- Ballina - Crewe Bay - Galway - Kerry...........

10 days will not be enough, lots of travelling around to cork/Wexford/east coast.... see how you go.
Others be along shortly for more advice.

Probably best cutting from Galway to Dublin and up east coast via carlingford-Belfast back to Larne.
Come back again for another 10 days !!!

Enjoy the trip.

Coming over for many years the advice I would suggest is maybe not what you are looking for.
When we started we dashed around to see recommended spots covering many miles to get from one to the next.
OK we saw a lot of tourist spots in the first two or three trips but we then realised that we missed most of what a holiday in Ireland is all about, by all means have some places to go and loads are worth visiting but don't do as we did rush around so that you were too worn out to enjoy the country,
Maybe get a few comments that as usual I am spouting rubbish, also another thing that I learnt is that Ireland is not always blessed with the best weather for sight seeing/Touring and long drives each day in the rain down motorways shows you nothing of the country, so be flexible with your plans, by all means have a plan but try looking at the weather forecast before you set off and you may find going east the way you have planned is forecast heavy rain but west and south better weather and then make your choice Ireland is much nicer in good weather.
A couple years ago we were fortunate to be over when MHC were having a rally at a music festival if you get the chance to attend one (ask Ally) whilst you are over there they will make you most welcome, but be warned they are the most ************ set of people and they also very hospitable (think that is the correct word)

************ (interested to see what words will be offered for the Stars)

To put in one sentence
Just go with the flow and you will enjoy

David

Hi. What a pity you have only 10 days, last year we spent 5 weeks in Ireland and only managed to travel from Dublin round the coast to Sligo, via Belfast, Derry, and Donegal, and even then there was a lot of places we missed, lots of people you meet will want a bit of craic with you and time ticks on, dont be in a rush just take it easy and slow and enjoy the people and the country, we are trying to make time for another visit this year, you will see some wonderful scenery and meet some wonderful people, just go and enjoy and keep your foot off the throttle.
Happy travels
Ken

Most come for the coastal roads/scenery but since you are from Islay I guess you've seen plenty of similar, so perhaps a day in Belfast city . If you tell us what sort of things you are interested in members should be able to point you in the right direction.

Great a new competition for all to enter .

What 12 letter word best describes a MHC craic meet

If heanorboy PM Ally with the word he had in mind he could put a time limit on it.
( we have seen recently that he is at a loose end ) :D

In between Greystones and Cobh, you have Ferrybank close to Wexford town ( great selection of shops and things to do ) , Hook head , Ardmore , all only a couple of hours drive from each other.
Spoiled for choice , take it handy and enjoy.

Treat your ten days as a wee taster.
You will be back! If you take your time and get as far as Donegal! Be content and laugh out
Loud, you have a camper van and Ireland is on your doorstep!
We are away from home at the present, but when you come back,i will give you a place to park and
Give you a glimpse of Strangford Lough!
Hope the weather keeps up.
It's a long time since we moored below the Jura hotel!!

If you are disembarking in Larne you could head north and take in the N Antrim Coast, Giants Causeway and check out Bushmills.
Travel on to Derry and cross into Donegal and pick up the Wild Atlantic Way route. It is fully signposted and provides amazing sights and scenery. Not possible to do all of it in 10 days but what you will see will be breathtaking. Safe travelling and enjoy.

If going to Portrush carry on to Portstewart then up to Coleraine but take the coast Rd leaving Coleraine and go through Articlave and take right at the crossroads at the thatched Hezlett Houston to Castlerock you can overnight on the prom leave Castlerock and carry on towards Downhill you will pass the Mussenden temple Downhill castle and the lions gates down in to Downhill with one of the best beaches around stay on that road as far as Limavady and then up the main road to Londonderry and on to Donegal Edd
