End of LPG Pumps !!

Scanning through this months ADAC magazine, just looking at pictures and stuff as I don't speak German, I came across an article which seems to have a relevance to us motorhomers.
It looked like the article was looking at the future fuel options and it had a graph which indicated a steep rise in hybrid petrol/electric and pure plug in electric.
The interesting bit, from our point of view, is that the graph showed the disappearance of LPG powered cars by the end of this decade. If this is true it is likely that service stations will do away with their LPG pumps, not good for those of us with refillable bottles or onboard tanks.

Seems to be only a matter of time. Reports on the English sites of certain companies doing away with the pumps from their forecourts.

Was the ADAC magazine online?

The problem with the LPG vehicles is the installation cost. We were rolling out converting our fleet of Scanias to lpg but when the price of oil fell back, what must be roughly two years ago now, we put a halt on the conversions as the rate of return was going to take too long to recover. The price of gas differs from that of petrol/diesel in that it adjusted every three months and over that time period we never saw the sort of reductions which diesel achieved, leading to the narrowing of the price gap. Now that diesel is climbing (again) we are considering restarting the project as its becoming more economically favourable again.

I suppose we can expect everything to change over time.
How long will it be before we don't add tv aerials and satellite dishes? If 4g or 5g improves by the time I change the Motorhome again I will just go for Iptv.
We use it a lot at home and it is great.

I will keep the gaslow until is becomes a pain to get.

Hope it doesn't happen for a few more years. I have the Gaslow system installed and love it.
Fill up at any LPG pumps.
Love the convenience of it and love that it can be done all over Europe

Two full cylinders lasts us a long time except we go cold weather camping and use the heater extensively.

Same here, some never come out of their plastic cover, pity because I would think they are pretty interesting reading if you understood German.

It's a Pity ADAC won't print in English. I queried them if they could and they said no so I ended up telling them to stop sending the magazine as it ended up going straight to the bin. Turns out they couldn't do that either and it continued to arrive so I start the fire with it. It looks like a great read though, might learn German!
