Had call to stay at Donaghadee Aire for just over a week. SWMBO was doing a training course locally and it saved a lot of travelling everyday from home.
First time I have stayed so long on an Aire, didn't think it would be so entertaining - seriously... I was bored after 3 days. But that was because I was on my own, it rained a lot and had to look after the two dogs
Donaghadee is a lovely place, very friendly locals, the Aire is great and we go there a lot. I did notice a few different types of Motorhomers as I had nothing to do all day but watch.
1. The Motorhome Flyer - stop - service - leave
2. The Motorhome Stopper - stop & stay
3. The early Motorhomer - arrive late - sleep - leave early
4. The Foreign Motorhomer - plenty of them which was great to see!
Can you tell how bored I was?
Now home but before I left this morning a French Motorhomer, pulled in and wanted water. He used the toilet rinsing tap, I thought the French would be experts!?!? This was either because he had no token or didn't want to buy a token. After nearly choking on my Alpen I went out and said my first ever "bonjour" to a French man, waved in a "don't do that fashion" and gave him a token which he then used for fresh water. He said his goodbyes and thank you's and left. I didn't get a refund but I managed to finish the rest of my Alpen.
