Good luck, mine is around the middle of July, not an ideal time of the year as I'm usually away. Although it can be done a month in advance for up to 13 months but I'm usually away then too.

Any of us with older vehicles, it’s always a bit of stress coming up to doe. I have spent a fortune in the last year getting chassis, cross members, etc blasted coated painted etc . Timing belt full service. Also cab doors resprayed. New air suspension fitted. If it fails after all that, which it could, who knows....., I think I’ll take to the river, as we say around here.

Paul, I think it's 28 days in advance you can mot a vehicle but the only problem with doing it early is, if it fails on anything then you are not legally allowed to drive it on the road until it is retested ,I do mine early each year so as to get it out of the way,but the last time I was informed if there were any problems I could loose out, which would not have gone down very well as we were heading away in the van.

We're in for our first one in May and I've been doing some maintenance work already... little bit of wooble on the steering so new inner/outer tie rods for her (waiting on parts).
Sure, there's a bit of rust here and there but that comes with being 23 year young. We'll see when the time comes
In the South you can now change the month for test that suits you best,ie if your test is due in September, but it might suit you better to do it in May you can do it and the test is valid till next May,but you loose 5 months test.I did it as I am going to Spain from October 2018 till April 2019 so the test from May to May suits me.
must be some sort of record, rang this morning for cvrt appointment got one for today at 4 and back home at 6 oclock with a pass cert in my hands, must buy a lotto ticket this week so!

Good news. Passed the doe today with flying colours. It seems as if all the preventive maintenance paid off. It wasn’t out until the 29th but we leave for France on the 30th. No way was I cutting it that fine
Pressure off for another year.
