Duck has been with me about two years ...he is a bit sick bit went off to the body shop on saturday and should be back on the road in a bout a month.

Since I bought him in The Cotswolds in the UK he has been to Northern Ireland with me and over to Wales for a week before I found serious rust in the chassis.... so; he;s having new chassis rails at the fronet and several new panels fitted.

I'll post some pics when he;s done.

Any other classic Mk1/2 Transits in here?

I beleive that the major rot in thechassis may have been due to previous bad accident repiars. The chassis rail was rotted right through.

Here's the new chassis rails

and here's the rest of the panels.....

fairly extensive corrosion, but it got through teh CVRT in 2013

The great thing about a Ford is the parts are usually reasonable for them. That looks a stunner.

I have to modify the paint job to minimise the top heavy look.

He's called Duck because the UK number was DxxxUCK

great to see an old tranny given new life, alot of people wold have just scrapped it or exported it fair play to you and as someone who is also haveing chassis woe`s i commend you on a great job...

when you say engine re-fit, have you had it reconditioned on any way?

no, I had to take out the engine to fit the new chassis rails. I have changed the timing belt and will have a look at the clutch before i refit it and serviced it whilst it was on my bench but it was going really well and has only done 71000 miles if the speedo is to be believed. (2 litre pinto petrol)
