Hi All,

Having drained the water system, I want to try a weekend away, filling the tank I find the pump operating but not pumping through to the taps, does anyone have any advise for a new user?

Thanks,

Bill :D :D :D

Most likely an airlock. I have to put mine on an upward slope to help all the air to get out. I operate the pump until it appears at the taps along with numerous splutters before it settles....maybe you just aren't operating the pump long enough?

My last MH done that too. I use to open ALL the taps and leave the pump running. One time it never came through and I had to go all technical..... I wiggled the pipes above the tank and hey presto :)

Tip, blow up a balloon and then hold the end over the tap and let the balloon deflate , learnt that in vietnam 8-) 8-) :-)

If your boiler had been drained it could take a while to get the air out of it.
If there is an electric valve make sure it is closed.

It all depends on whaich system you have

try putting your mouth over the tap and suck while the pump is on my last camper used to air lock a lot and that was the quickest way to get it going, tried filling up the tank to overflowing jiggling the pipes etc to no avail ( it is also a sign the the pump is on the way out I think )

I would like to thank all the guys who offered their expertise, problem is now solved. here's how.
1. drain tank.
2. clamp overflow end with vice grip.
3. open cold tap and fill.
4. when nearly full turn on pump.

Hey Presto!!!!!! it draws and works all is now well.

I hope to meet up with you all this year I'll be in the Auto Trail Apache Rico, that guy Morgan Spice is no match for Mr White and Mr McKay?????????
