Boosting the MIFI

following on from Ally's sickening speed test I was wondering if an aerial can be attached to a mifi to boost the incoming/outgoing signal, not concerned about the wifi bit as it gets everywhere I need it to. Internal or external doesnt really matter.

I'm beginning to wonder if Ally had a few too many Carlsberg when he did the speed test and his vision was a bit questionable?

I can't put an Ariel on my WiFi as there is no place to do it. I've got one of those Sims for France so must look about another one for here and have a go at it. I've never used mine yet.

John, yours being a later one should have a TS9 slot, mine does. Pull open a small flap on the side to it and you can connect a ts9 aerial in there, there are loads on fleabay.

I'm thinking of the one plan but would it work as SIM only in a mifi and would a booster aerial help. Currently getting about 1.5 on mifi and .2 on broadband

Not certain whether you can do that, it seems you may be able to as it is not a 3 Mifi but do not know for sure. When I get a minute tomorrow I'll see if my one plan sim works in my mifi.

I have an aerial here if you want try it.

I will take you up on the offer of trying the aerial, but will leave it until I get back from holidays.

We are heading off next week for a week and off the The Gambia. We were supposed to go there four years ago but I had to undergo emergency surgery (ruptured bowel/ nearly died according to surgeon) a couple of days before we left so didn't make it and thought we should give it ago. Heading to the same hotel as previously booked as well. All jabs are up to date and start taking malaria tablets next weekend so all being well!

Have a fab time both of you and enjoy yourselves. I hope there no Internet access as it will give me a chance to catch up with you. But knowing you you will take MiFy or WiFy of Hi Fy or some other fi with you. Glad you've finally decided on a destination. Wish we could for our 20th Wedding Anniversary.

This is our 6th anniversary and because of when it falls we usually try to go away somewhere as it also covers Angela's birthday and valentines as well. The only problem now is the pressure to get everything cleared up in work prior to going.

So do I , I have enough stress at work without trying to figure out a holiday, the rest of the year is even simpler, book flights or boat to Spain and go to the house , once a year is enough
