Got our Irish Ferries booking done last night.

Rosslare/ Cherbourg both ways for three weeks in July. It was the most expensive crossing we have booked for years but the dates fell very nicely for us.

Booked via the advert on this site so another boost for the Craic running costs... ;-)

It probably makes more sense to go through England but I just can't be bothered with the traffic.

We went to Belgium last year and still went via Cherbourg..LOL

Hi Mark,

Expensive to book during the peak period, however, I assume you will qualify for the free Trip to Wales (off peak). When I priced crossings with Irish Ferries, a trip to Wales in 2013 was likely to be about $400 euros as against about £320 Belfast to Cairnryan, so assuming you can make use of the trip it at least spreads the cost over two holidays.

I would have given consideration to this option, circumstances dictated May, I booked through this site O-) and got 10% off for early booking. Irish ferries extended the deal with out warning and I complained. They very decently gave me further 10% off.

Roll on the spring!

Davy

Yes Davy we probably will get the offer of the free UK sailing again. We got it this year but never used it.

Well done getting the extra 10% off.

We usually go in July or August to meet friends and visit people. We do keep saying we should go during other months but never do.
We could have gone twice this year for less but decided on July again. LOL

Booked crossing to Cherbourg in June and returning in Aug with IFerries for €420 with cabin. Happy with this price as it also includes free crossing to England which we plan on doing later in the year. First we have to survive Belgium and mainly Germany. First time to bring camper to Germany and looking forward to it.

We stayed in La Rochelle in august. Can recommend a nice municipal site in La Gord on a bus route.
