Hi, Have you ever seen a sign like this on a car park!
Motorhome friendly with toilets, shops, pubs, 800 year old castle beside the sea.

Dave.

It is a nice spot but last time I was there there were travellers taking up multiple bays with caravan, car, genny, and washingline etc. It was a bit off putting leaving van unattended.

Flans van I can only speak of one occasion on a Friday night. We went last year to go to one of the local restaurants and we came back about 11:30 am and had I not had wine with my meal we would have gone home to Antrim. We did not get any sleep until about 4.30 am as balloons were revving and driving around like lunatics. I don't know why other folk have experienced but we wont be back as we will spend our money somewhere else. It would be interesting to hear what other folk have experienced particularly on a Friday or Saturday night.

We went once, went for a meal in the restaurant. When we got back we left straight away, cars racing about everywhere, it didn't feel right.

I would use it but only for a service point.

Thanks for the update folks. I will give this spot a wide berth for an overnight.

Ally I think you have got it in ONE! Carrickfergus as much as I hate to say it is only a service point that is unless the PSNI decide to police it and chase these folk who don't work about the cost of tyres!

Instead of winging is anyone reporting this to the local tourist office the tourist officer is very approachable and I am sure will do her best to sort this out as she was instrumental in getting the two aires fitted. Call and see her

I've already made my views known to the Tourist Office so they are aware of it.

I don't think it's "winging" - Motorhomers are posting their experiences of that Aire to highlight any problems to other Motorhomners. This is what we do on here, share our experiences.
Carrick Council and the PSNI have been aware of the problem for over 10 years, it has been used as a "Cruise" venue for a very long time, before the Aire was ever in place.

If you think that contacting the Tourist office will have any effect, I will surely be doing that in the future. :-)
