Yes every year problems. I normally put the handbrake on slightly for a couple of miles before I arrive at MOT. Its away today to get shower tray speed coated. I'm spending a few quid on it but I intend to keep it for a while

Looks good 👍 but you could try it out now to see how well it stops the rain.😂

They are great, had one for a while. Also very good at stopping the wind from making it slap at 3am 😁

Hi all. Have a crack in shower tray so who does speed coat in Ireland and what is average cost. I live near Dundalk out by the Lumpers pub so north or south would do. Any other ideas for repair.

There's somebody around Banbridge that does it. I had a sink done 5 years ago when I purchased the van from Thompsons in Dromore, they might be able to let you know who if you contact them.

I had my shower tray repaired a couple of weeks, ago by Down Leisure in Banbridge. They did a really good job. Depending on how bad it is budget for £350/450

My Propex gas night heater was only firing for 5 seconds then would stop and the light would flash 4 times. I looked under the van and the air intake pipe had worn a hole about 6 inches from the unit. It was rubbing off the exhaust pipe. So I got some tin foil and folded it over a few times then wrapped it around the pipe covering the hole, then covered the whole thing with insulating tape. Turned on the heating and away it went.

4 new Cross Climate Camping tyres. They look the part with chunky tread. I've only driven them a short distance and I think they are a bit louder than the previous Agilis. They are a snow tyre with the 3 peaks but I'll take the chains anyway

Nothing today.
But I have an appointment to change the tyres on Monday.
I go from the classic Michelin Agilis to the Crossclimate.

Geez, ordered in mid-October, only arrived yesterday.
And thank goodness because otherwise the trip after Christmas would have been missed.
After 50,000km three or four millimeters of tread are still there but it's not the case to climb over the Pyrenees.

When I was moving vehicles about the drive yesterday I had to hang my head in shame at the state of it. Now have made plans for over the next week or so to give it a good wash.

Any ideas how to get rid of green algi from the roof, front, sides etc

Not cheap I bet you are pleased that you don’t have to do that every year. Enjoy your trip to Spain.

You’ll know that there are various products designed for exactly this purpose. I tend to just soak with a hose then using an extendable sort brush hot water and a decent car shampoo apply lightly and leave for an hour or so. Rinse with hose then repeat with the hot soapy brush and a sponge on some of the stubborn spots. Rinse and a dry.

I haven’t found a better solution than lots of elbow grease.

That said I’m planning to use snow foam using my jet wash on a very low power setting in the next few weeks and see if this works out easier.

I know, unfortunately.
However, these are costs that are part of the game, motorhoming has never been cheap.
In any case, three and a half years and 50,027 kilometers are acceptable values for the same tyres set.

Thank you for wishing a good trip, after two winter Spains (Valencia and Murcia down to Malaga, 2017) and Andalusia of the Pueblos Blancos, 2022), Aragon awaits us.

Annual service, once a year or 10,000 miles, it’s been serviced 3 times and still hasn’t done 10,000

Primarily the van, the driveway is a disaster as the moss/lichen is growing at a faster rate than any other year.

I normally use the Fenwicks Motorhome cleaner, use it fairly strong to get rid of the black streaks

Had a problem with my fridge on gas. The burner looked damaged. Was away in Bangor so called Leisure Technical Solutions and they booked me in for the following morning. The replaced the burner and was back working fine in about 45 mins. Great service.

Pulled out the old (no LiFePO4) charging profiles

And replaced the above with this unit which has a LiFePO4 profile, plus all the rest. It does all three functions, (B2B Charger, MPPT Charge Controller & sends some charge to the starter battery) in one init Specs Here

I also cleaned the roof, as in removing enough crap you could set a drill of spuds in. It's truly amazing what three months of wet weather can produce,
Ferry to Spain beckons.

Got it ready for the CVRT. Passed ok The tyres are 6 years old. I thought I would get an advisory to change them but nothing on the paper work. 48kms on the tyres. Still plenty of thread and look in good condition. Should I change them anyway. Quoted €220 each for Continental Vanco 10 ply 225/75/R16 fitted.

I gave the Bullls a drink today, (Tesco deionised water), the starter was fine, but the other two took a surprising amount, considering it's over the winter.
