Sounds a bit weird but since I put the solar on my side step goes out and in quicker

Could be the higher voltage helping the motor run faster

Not weird. Your battery is sitting at a higher voltage when the sun is out. This was a small concern for me when running the 12 Volt TV, which now receives 14 to 15 volts when the sun is out. But nothing has blown up yet. I’m sure your step won’t mind.

Ps..... could've given you a new set of Fiamma ones had I known 🤔

Ah jaysus. I’ll keep the the tridents in the boot just in case, this van doesn’t have air suspension, doesn’t need it for comfort in fairness, so might be a call for them somewhere

I seen Fiamma ones in the shop in wolohan's can't remember the price but at the time I thought they were cheap maybe worth a phonecall?

Should the signs be in English? (Where the mh is registered)

The locals here wont have a clue Wtf angle morts means,

Seen a German Dethleffs last week with the signs on but who knows what they mean when they are in French/German or what ever

Id say the English ones can be got in the local commercial motorfactors,

My waste pipe hit a rock and broke while I was trying to find “the view” when wild camping (lesson learned) in West Cork so i went full McGyver. A trip to the all in one local Pub/Garage/Village shop & hardware store to source what ever plumbing kit they had and I managed to put together a rather elegant bodge job with a much better placed tap.

As they say, if you can’t fix it with Duck tape - you didn’t use enough. Great job on the road.

@TommyS I was guessing that they wanted them in French alright,

I was just curious if the English version would do them,

I wonder what the French will want after the angle morts signs 😁

Cleaned it and installed a fire extinguisher. It can be accessed from the cab or the habitation area, the bottom "boot" is a coupler for 150mm waste pipe.

Been having an intermittent problem with my reverse camera going to bluescreen lately...always at the time you need it most!.... The roads of west Cork was the final straw as the camera gave up the ghost and never came back to life on the entire journey home....anyway...my last roll of the dice to fix myself before it went back to dealer was whip the camera itself off and check connections....sure enough...very loose spade connectors that came apart at the slightest touch...I crimped them up tight and now camera working again!..... im going to wait till a few trouble free trips are under the belt before I celebrate 🍾 🤪

Have a look at the Fire Safety Stick. Yes they are relatively expensive but they work with any type of fire, leave no mess and are compact. They don't have any compressed gas so don't need to be secured in the same fashion as a regular extinguisher.

I've mine stored in the habitation door pocket and I got it here
https://ears.ie/fire-safety-stick-extinguisher/

As their performance, I saw one put out a vehicle engine fire that two ordinary extinguishers didn't dampen the fire at all.

That's not a bad bit of road, it's just that of it is hard to find because a lot of it is under the foliage of overgrown hedges 😂🙄

If you want to experience a perfect stretch of road in Cork, take a trip from the village of Kilgarvan to the N22 Cork/Killarney road. This was Jackie Healy-Raes bargaining chip project a few elections ago.

Didn't have to be a lazy day Liam, you could have washed my van while you were looking for something to do 😁

PS head home via Killarney could be a good option for you ,N 71 still closed between Kenmare and Glengarrif

I could have easily washed it here in Sneem, just drive it down the slip and wait for high tide.
I have to pick up someone near Bandon on my way home tomorrow so it'll be cross country from Kenmare.
