No didnt think to check it, lesson learned. I checked and double checked everything else including marking the plus wire from the paned with a sharpie so I wouldnt connect it wrong. Thanks Panda but they are going to take it back. I am a bit pissed off as I had to send the mppt back as well

That’s a balls.

I’m not getting a reading when I connect across the wires from the panel. I ll take the panel off tomorrow and test at the box. I have a fuse from the mppt to the plus on the battery. I followed the instructions but still no joy

Yippee. I've power. Went out today and got 21 volts at the panel. Dont know what happened. Apparently I've got AGM2 batteries and I had switch on AGM/lead acid.

Good stuff Tommy 👏 👍

Is that 21 volts the rated panel output?... most seem to be around 39 volts.

Might be due to early low light etc and volts will climb accordingly

No Panda its full sun here. I'm happy if I get anything. This panel is just a belt and braces thing. I very seldom run out of power.

Sure I can switch on the noisy thing

8-)

While doing a bit of sorting out today in advance of our first outing since the 5k was lifted I noticed the DRL's on the mh coming on for a few seconds every couple of minutes. It seems the solar charge controller is in pulse phase and each time it pulses the fully charged leisure batteries, the 14.4v charge also travels via the CSB-2 to the engine battery which makes the DRL control unit think the engine has started.
'tis a mad world.

The last time mine did that it was ehu too, but it seems power from solar can have the same effect if there's a charge from the solar going to the engine battery

So I finally got around to fitting two extraction fans for my fridges upper grill (trust me, they’re cable tied to the inside of the the grill).

And this is what it looks like when the van door is open, like how you would on a hot day and when it is hard to keep a cold fridge. It’s not exactly what I was aiming for. 🥴

They will make a great improvement, the two I fitted dragged down the temp from above 60 down to 24 deg. with the same door type but with clear window.

I got one of these switches and connected the existing socket circuit (not including the fridge, charger and Truma unit), a mains (ehu) supply and a supply from the inverter following the supplies circuit diagram. The resulting functionality is, position 0 = no power to socket circuit, position 1 = socket circuit live from ehu, position 2 = socket circuit live from inverter.

Bought some Caraclean to whiten one vent on my gas locker. Problem is I need sun shine for 8 hours for it to work. I’ll send what’s left to Sprinter. Sorry, just saying!

Only if it works, before and after photo's please.
but yoh will probabky have to bring it to the Hook, in order to have any chance of 8 houre of sunshine😁

But I fear the vent's you were looking at are Ramblers and not the ones on my old Sprinter.
It would still be nice to see the results, since most older vents all fade to that yellowing colour.
@Blag. had a soulation I think?

I have that caraclean. Make sure you remove the vent. Do NOT try to use it with vent on the Motorhome. It is not as simple as it appears.
If you don’t live in the Sunny south east, an ultra violet light will work also

Replaced both my leisure batteries. I’ve noticed (especially at the last meet up in Malin) that my water pump would run longer until it had pressure built up and the voltage was dropping quicker on the monitor. So, bavk home I ran a test and the batteries are past their best. I bought the van 6 years ago and the leisure’s were shot then…. So I decided to replace the original single battery with 2 instead of 1 and fitted a 160 watt solar panel and mppt controller. The batteries I used back then were Halfords 100 a/h, class B batteries and they are 6 years old past in March and they’ve been superb., simply cant fault them.
We are quite heavy users on batteries, run for weeks off grid without EHU, use van summer & winter and never had an issue with power. So, I’ve replaced both the batteries with the same again, Halfords HLB700’s 100a/h batteries & if I can get the same service once more I’d be more than happy. MOT passed on Thursday so all good to go.
