Could you maybe tell them you have 14 seats the same. I’d definitely take a couple, as would many others😜
Seriously though, did you get them in a bag with a part number. They cannot be expensive and MH any people would willingly pay for them

Try this Dave.

Just finished washing the awning. Rolled it fully out, a good scrub, inner and outer side and dried it completely before winding it back in. It wasn’t too bad in fairness, still there was a few spots of mould and dirt on it. Ready now for the sun ........ thum te thum...... where’s the sun 🧐

Filled with water and took it for a run to get gas and glad to report no water leaks but the gas was a different issue, when I turn the bottle on could hear it escaping, checked the pig tails and one was leaking at the nut so new seal and all good again. Almost ready to start using it!

Filled with gas ourselves today, has anyone else noticed that it is getting more difficult to get gas ? A lot of the stations have taken the gas pump out.

Personally I wouldn’t dream of getting one fitted. There is only one outlet in Co Wexford to my knowledge. It is an hours drive to the next one. Tbh I see no issues with the cylinders, our van can take two 11 kg cylinders and that lasts almost as long as a lot of refillable tanks. Dearer admittedly, but in the greater scheme of things, it’s a small cost per year compared to other things

If you Tour a lot on the continent, and you have room for 2 cylinders, then you may want to consider 1 refillable like gasit, and 1 exchange like Calor. You then have both options covered at the lowest price.

Fill the gasit with autogas when available and use the Calor when an autogas station is not handy. You then have the option of cheaper autogas and the flexibility on the continent with out the grief of lifting a heavy cylinder, and also the certainty of exchange when at home with Calor.

At the moment we only do 3-4 weeks on the continent. During the summer. At the rate we use gas in the summer, the two cylinders would last us the entire summer easily.
However that is a great idea for someone whom is abroad for extended periods. The best of both worlds 👍

John if you have room it is probably best to purchase another 7kg bottle and store it on board.

Got a new 10m length of food-grade flat hose today, weighs less than 1kg.
I'll divide it into two lengths, a 3m and a 7m or thereabouts. The 3m will be nice and tidy and do for most fill-ups and the 7m will be in reserve for when a longer length is needed and join the two when necessary.

3. New external gas/bbq point fitted to rear panel, changed 3 point gas manifold for a 4 point one (Yes this did mean couldn't shut door so had to move whole lot back further behind cooker, had to dismantle most of the furniture down one side to route the 3 or so metres of copper pipe and finally drill a 60mm hole in the side of the van o.O Still all good just need it testing now and then I can put the van back together.

Have some other "improvements" in mind and will let you know when I get round to them.
Maureen says she thinks I enjoy "messing about with the van" more than using it :fgrin: you know she might just be right.

Aye a gud un folks
David

Engineer came today and passed my external gas point no leaks, only comment was that i should add some more rubber sleeved clamps. :D :*

Have now fitted a rear view "Dash Cam" "great Fun" getting a ignition live feed all the way to the back,
Also new Tracker unit fitted got it working but have the problem that when it replies it comes back in Chinese, have sent a request for further instructions but may have to go back.

Oh going back to the BBQ point I tested the joints with washing up liquid Engineer informed me that although it is the best way to test you MUST wash it off again as it is acidic and will quicky corrode through the pipe. I tested yesterday and the pipe had already turned green in places and when i washed it off your could see where it had attacked the copper.

Next job rebuilding half of the furniture, and reload all the stuff taken out.
Then looking to add fog/angel eye DRLs twin units (Fog in the middle of the light and angel eye around this, only problem again have to drill a 64mm hole to mount them.

Hi Pat

The van has been great every time we have used it, but having said that its been sat on the yard now since November as Maureen and me keep heading off to the Hospital and we have not planned anything for this year now just waiting for her knee operation,

Whether down to the fact that it has the Auto Gearbox it is so much better to drive than the Sevel based vehicles I have owned, almost as good as the VWT5 and that says a lot. It also uses less fuel and the Wildax build quality is far in advance of the newer mass produced ones.
So overall will give it 9/10 one off for how much of a pain it is finding the secondary bonnet release handle

Delighted to hear that after all the grief you got from the last one but feel Maureen’s pain, David. I got a knee replaced in 2016 and have to admit it was tough going for a while but well worth it. In fact it is life changing, you don’t realise how limited you are with a bad knee until you get the relief and improved mobility. Very important to do the exercises after surgery though. Wish her well and I hope ye are out and about in the Motorhome soon.

I went out to the MH, turned on the heat and started a jigsaw, I felt I was on holidays.

Thorough external wash including roof took me 2.5hours in total. Not been done since Dec but not been out anywhere since. That's about it... not likely to be going anywhere for the foreseeable unless this pandemic passes quickly :D

Gavin that is good but unfortunately your motorhome will probably be like the rest of ours, not going very far over the next few months.
I will be more than happy to stand corrected but anyway good luck with your new date.
