yes it is a marine product for hull, I have only used it on fibreglass and plastic trim I avoid rubber and steel now it has toched off both ( blame the help ) with no ill affect but you must polish the surface after use to protect it again

Thanks

Must look into it just for that little section.
It isn't too bad but sort of annoys me

If you have a Alko chassis the handbrake cable is an Alko part, a while ago I needed one for a Bessacar I bought new, as it was only months old it went to a dealer, the Fiat dealer messed around for a month must have tried every cable Fiat made with no result, until I intervened and rang the Alko telephone number in the handbook myself, had the proper cable next day.

Washed and polished the exterior.
Full 4 stage clean.

That's the first big clean of the year, a full 7 hours

It would have been longer but was cut short as the rain came on.

Serious amount of cleaning done today, the van got the 'Full Fenwicks' (wash with cleaner and finish with Bobby Dazzler). Spent a lot of time on the roof getting it clean as I reckon a lot of the grime is gravity driven!!

Also she is going soon for hab check and solar panels, so can't let Simon think we are mucky motorhomers. O-)

Also received a pack of Forever Black in the post from E bay today. It is a bumper and trim DYE which gets good write ups on the other forums, fed up putting on back to black etc which quickly goes back to grey. This is a two pack for £15 approx (supposed to do about 4 bumper) one part cleans off old silicon spray and second part dyes the plastic.

Not enough time to do that today, so will report in due course.

Had hoped to go for a run, or stretch to an overnight, but had to stay home for my mechanic to come and replace broken front spring on KA which daughter bounce over speed bump in a vain attempt to emulate a Harrier Jump Jet!! 🇧🇭 More money I thought I had but don't. :'(

It does take time to do the motorhome right.
I have the same policy on keeping the roof clean.

I have just come in from giving ours the final touch ups. That's about 17 hours ever the last 3 weekends.

Never heard of Forever Black Davy.

I will be interested to hear how it goes. I have always stayed away from any plastic stuff which says its a dye but forever black seems to get good reviews as you say.

I only use gel type plastic conditioners from Auto Glym or Mer and find them great.

I've been trying to figure out how to clean the roof for ages now. Finally got round to getting the power spray hooked up and had a go with a ladder. No joy. It's filthy. Looks like i'll have to climb up there. Are they designed to hold 14 stone ?

Hi Swanner,

Mine takes my 14 stone (90 kg) and feels pretty solid. It is rated for 75kg so I tread carefully. I am more concerned about falling off!! I do a bit of climbing and that is definately safer than the flat roof. Nowhere to set up a belay on an Autosleeper.

The roof is fibreglass and apart from the raised Luton it has no flex. Probably depends on make.

Bring back the days when you could send a small child up a chimney.

Haven't seen any here but several garages in England have one wash bay sidelined with a stainless steel walkway about 7' up so you can powerhose the roof of your van, caravan, or motorhome....I imagine they draw quite a bit of business.

Now are there any Petrol Station owners registered on the site yet? :D

What did you do to your motorhome today? I sold it!

Never fear though, I bought a replacement! Now the proud owners of a Chausson Flash 03 (which we quickly nicknamed "Gordon").

So other things I did to my motorhome today were: play with the buttons and gauges, try to figure out what the weird "OK" sign was on the wall (turns out it's a fridge thermometer, though what it's doing up on the wall, I don't know...), played with the TV and aerial (never had a tv before in the motohrome), and stashed all our show gear in the garage (one of the reasons we bought it in the first place).

It's nice to have a more modern motorhome after our 1994 Dethleffs, but I must admit I still think the materials used in the Dethleffs were better quality.

Hi all,

Got the van checked over at leisure tech. Hab check and a few pre-emptive items of maintainence. O-)

I had fancied a solar panel set up as We like to wild or do C & CC w/ends and use aires in France.
!00 watt panel and regulator fitted for £370

Sadly the leisure battery was in decline, so got a 110 amp battery. No point in spoiling the ship for the proverbial hap'worth of tar.

Started packing the van, it's amazing the amount of extra junk you accumulate in 3 months in a house 🇧🇭
Don't forget we have to get everything in there, as after Europe we will be heading back to Australia.

Cheers

Just spent a few hours polishing out a scratch the full length of the body. Must have been caused by a branch on the road between Doolin and Sligo. All gone now thankfully.

Also made a pair of extra wide front mud flaps this morning. All I need to do now is get them. That should be interesting.

Nothing, apart from look at it whilst sprawled out on a chair with another bottle of beer in hand.

Might need to put the awning out to shade me from the sun, ahhh, isn't Easter great
