It's not just in Spain, in Camping Saint-Michel 50220 - Courtils a group of about 30 people from the statics were going full tilt, until after 4am, there was no staff on duty they shut the barrier and fecked off home, when several of us complained the next morning one Dutch guy, having challenged them ,and got abused, knew which chalet they were from, we were advised we should have call the police. Now I will not stay on a campsite, if there is no one on 24 hours Duty.
I think we made our displeasure known, when it took 4 of us about 20 minutes driving around the static park, trying to find our way out, shortly after 8 am. there must have been a problem with the wifi that shorted the horns, they seemed to stop, when we passed the barrier.

An old trick to get your revenge on late night revellers who keep you awake. Early next morning when they're sleeping it off chuck some bits of bread on their roof, the birds will sort them out 😂🤣

We haven't had anyone beside us since we got here last Sunday with 2 vacant pitches either side (wondering was it us) felt very spacious, notice the difference today with UK mhs either side, we don't even overlook as staff picked a pitch that gave a nice view.
Next stop Thursday to Salamanca (3-4 hrs drive) midway between Porto and Madrid and it will be at a weekend... And I have my earplugs😉

Just arrived in Argles sur Mer. Have been traveling down through France for the last 3 weeks. Thinking of going to Spain for a week. Never been there in the MH before. Any recommendations for sites north of Barcelona.

Spent last 4 days in Salamanca in Camping Don Quijote lovely campsite. Nigel cycled every day into city. €19 a night with ACSI. As I had emailed 2 days earlier, on arrival he said I was lucky, I could see him telling other arrivals it was full. There were no noise over weekend.

Tomorrow heading for Madrid, south of city , Aranjuez. Not booked 🤞even though with ACSI I have been requesting a few days in advance. Normally they email acknowledgement confirming dates and we pay on departure but this place wants us to book on their website and pay in advance.
Then possibly upwards to Teguel or down level with Valencia.
Aiming for Girona direction to Roses or L’Estartit as we has a package holiday there years ago.
Leo (Thornwood) if you get to Roses let us know what you think of it.
We haven’t bought diesel yet as we filled up in Rosslare. €1.21 near here, but most places €1.45.

Got to Aranjuez south of Madrid, traffic so light, first 100km and smooth (you know when things don’t rattle in MH.) We chose no tolls on Sat Nav and took us to the campsite.
The PA system a bit loud by pool, seem to be lots of kids, it’s a Monday, why aren’t they in school! but quiet later.
The Wifi wasn’t working, we have 4G (R) which means slower but signal got stronger later in day.
Will decide tomorrow if 2 days or longer.

Staying in Argles for a few days. Sunny but very windy. Up to 60k today. No awning out and even the ground sheet was lifting. Cycling difficult in exposed places. Hopefully it will be better in Spain wext week.

Moved down to Roses. Camping Rodas (ACSI). Nice site . Some of the pitches are tight but this time of year we had a good choice. Weather forecast mixed for the next few days.

We left Aranjuez on 17th and drove down to ACSI 2324 Kikopark Rural in Villogorde €21 on the A3 About 100km west of Valencia. Nice site in country away down a steep Slightly bendy open road with gorge views 3km from the town and any shops. Nice view of reservoir / lake It was quiet but there is a camping company that rents out and that could possibly get quite busy later in season. The restaurant only opened at weekends. The trains run past regularly, but pleasant soft swish sound with tunnel further along
Great size pitches surrounded on 3 sides with medium height Cyprus trees. I had picked this site as pool open from 15/5 but it wasn’t ☹ They were still cleaning the pipework.
Stayed 2 nights, just a bit of rain 2nd night, and yesterday 19th May on way into Valencia but 22 deg and sun going up the coast…..2hr drive.
Arrived in Benacassim on north side of Castillo de La Plana.
ACSI 2280 Camping Tauro, €17 for pitch 7mx7m but for “gold” pitch €22 for 14mx7m feels more spacious as our MH is 7m +bike rack. We could drive in from one road and out the other side. Lots of pitches are set up for summer filling a pitch to maximum with awnings/add on room. Nice pool, helpful receptionist and restaurant, trying it for lunch today and /or tomorrow.
We are now 4hr + drive from here to L’Esratit / Roses so want to pick another place in between.
Not Barcelona been there twice but not in MH.

@Thornwood how far are you intending going south?
We thought Madrid would be our furthest south

@Thornwood I’ve been looking at the ACSI for L’Estartit but just looking at Park4Night La Sirena with many reviews for May 2023. €18 with EHU or €11.22 without. Better comments.
We are in Benacassin and google maps from here reads similar distance to there and Roses.(4hrs) so we may head up tomorrow to L’Estartit or in a few days (we check yr.no for weather and it has been great down here)
What did you think of Rodas ? as lots of people have said Roses is lovely.
Maybe see you in L’Estartit…we have identical MHs so easy to spot.
Like you we are then heading up into France …what places did you like, haven’t been since 2019.

@R&N Roses is nice long prom with cycle lane. Weather still mixed. Site is also good. Almost all touring pitches. We stayed in Le Dauphin in Argeles sur Mer excellent site. L' Oasis California in Les Barcares also nice site and reasonable €15plus tax. We also stayed in Sandaya Tamaris in Frontignan Plage. Site on the beach. If you like Moules and frites there is a restaurant El Paso where you can eat as much as you like for €15

@Ally…reviews, having trouble with slow internet, for any apps, just white screen for your motorhome locations. I could email you some details.

@Thornwood, I was stabbing “like” to your reply about places and with this slow internet and instead of upward thumb got downward (dislike) but it should be 👍

It's grand. Unfortunately for now it requires good internet, in the future we'll have an offline version.

P.s. huge update coming soon.

Lovely here in La Sirena. sun came out, booked in till Thursday then Roses. Cheaper than ACSI, €18 + few cents tax with ehu or €11.22 without ehu
Beautiful beach at back end of campsite but 1km too far for me but there is a big pool, restaurant, take away and bar.

Heading into France tomorrow going up over Millau Viaduct and staying somewhere beyond that.
I want to avoid the alternative twisty route. I know very spectacular looking up at it.

I was looking up about tolls as some are free

Don't think the Millau Viaduct is ever free to cross. Cost us €15.10 a few weeks ago on way south

I've driven over the Millau Viaduct a few times and while it's a nice-to-do thing it's a bit of a non-event.
The old route down into the town and back up the other side is an easy drive and gives spectacular views of the bridge itself, which you don't get driving over it.
Also, there are a couple of nice campsites and a nice Aire in the town itself.
