Can anyone tell me if the 2.72kg camping Gaz is easy to get in ROI ? I've been told it is available in the North....

I don't know in ROI but it works fine in some European contries.
Just try https://www.campingaz.com/gasfinder/ , look for your preferred language then click on "Gas Cylinders" box.
