Be warned. You might get fed up with the portable one. I had visions of me setting up in the pouring rain while wife shouted instructions from inside. LOL

I can see that happening:)

I really don't intend to use it that much so didn't want to splash out on an expensive one. Not one for sitting watching TV.

Bought a portable one from Aldi last year but got the hump setting it up while out and about. This year when going to France brought a media player loaded with movies and TV serials that we had missed and it was great, and with the weather this year we needed it at times.

I have been thinking of adding a media harddrive to our system. Does yours have an output which can be connected by phono leads?

My TV has a USB port not sure if it would take the External HDD, I'll give it a go.

An external HDD will not play direct to your TV, that is why you need a media player which is basically a HDD with an extra bit of hardware and software so it can be connected directly to your TV or monitor. To use your HDD you would have to play it through a laptop using the TV as a second monitor. You can also buy a gismo which combined with your HDD will act as a media player, I don't know how well these work. Hope this helps.

Ahh inverters. That's another question of mine. Might start a new thread about that.

I have everthing running off 12volt without additional wires etc. So a 12 volt media player was what I was thinking of. No hurry but it would cut downcon the eve collection.
