Sure will. Between ourselves and another couple we were touring with last summer we left over €200 there when parked up for a couple of nights.
Next time we're in that part of the world we'll have to spend our hard earned elsewhere.

Yes, sad time for the local restaurants/bars etc.
Last time we were there (4 vans) we spent in excess of €500 on meals & drinks.
I love Westport, but afraid there is many other places which will now avail of our hard earned money.

I really despair with this country & the backward attitude adopted towards Motorhome tourism.

Am I correct in saying that Westport House don't allow dogs? Makes them very motorhome unfriendly given the number of motorhomes that have a pooch or two on board. They don't cater to the market but appear to wish to prevent any alternative none the less.

We were there a while ago (way before Covid) and we had our dog with us, maybe they’ve changed their policy since.

Putting up barriers to stop vans free parking on the grass and blocking access to the boats might be a good move, but the barriers to the carpark should be removed even if a fee is charged.
same in Cong a nice big carpark just before the town and empty most of the time.

as far as I’m aware Westport House don’t allow dogs in July and August but other months they are open they do.

Another Irish town crossed off our list of places to visit.
The ferry port to Europe remains our favourite destination on this island.

Too right @baguette … Hard to beat Rosslare as you roll on the ferry, with your motorhome (and you’re wallet) in the knowledge of being made welcome in France & beyond.

What an atrocious attitude towards Motorhome’s this country fosters, and I’m afraid to say that this attitude is here to stay…..

Out of interest, I'm on the Dingle peninsula at the moment in the Ballyferriter/Ventry/Ballydavid area and have yet to come across a barrier or no overnight parking sign. I'm sure they're around but none of the places I've passed or used have them.

I guess though busy, popular towns are a different story
