Many years of pleasure left in that vehicle. Make the best use of her and enjoy using her.

HI, The Merc has a sweet running diesel and does 25mpg on premium diesel .there is 40,000 miles on the clock! the motorhome/camper was in the same family for 30 years ;she was brought from england in 1981 that is why she has an 1981 reg. "Big Olga" was converted by Corvesgate in Bournemouth in 1980. I believe she will outlast me!
The Van Has Passed Her M.O.T. the last two years with me with no problems.

Looks to be in great shape inside and out, a credit to you and the previous owners.

Curiosity got the better of me...

Is that some sort of A/C unit on the roof?

Hi. Yes it is a Coleman Aircon unit from an Amercian R.V. it works on 12 volts so you can use it on the move .it is not like the modern A/C that you would have in a car but it does work; it throws a fine spray of water over a spinner which in turn chills the air. It has two speeds and can extract as well. it was installed in 1980 along with the atwood water heater [no longer in use] I can also reach it while I am driving! How are you getting on with your project? I take my hat off to you for your efforts in your fine Motorhome.

Dave.

Hello!

Apologies for resurrecting this thread but I thought rather that than start a whole new one.

We have a 207d camper ('79) much the same as the brilliant example in this thread, but for various reasons, we have no idea what any of the buttons in it do!? I know that sounds silly, and it is, but we have tried getting any kind of manual but with no joy, plus, the electrics have been refitted so I think it would be useless anyway.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone could help?

post a picture or two of the buttons or a description of the icons which are with them and we can try and decipher what they are intended to do.

If you drop Mercedes an email they could probably send you a PDF File of the handbook. Citroen were able to do that for me for the Mehari.

I had its big Brother, an 1995 Mercedes 410d van with the same cab, from memory it didn't have too many buttons or switches and they were really sturdy. I thought they were fairly straight forward.

They probably are straight forward, I'm just a bit dim I'd imagine!

There is a red 'switch' - it's more of a turnkey-type thing really - on the inside of the passenger seat which seems to connect to the battery under there (I presume that's the leisure battery but again, I know nothing about these things!) which I have no idea about.

Also, on the dash, there is a little flick switch which lights up when it's down (I presume 'on') and again, seems to make no difference to anything but I presume it must do!

Apologies, didn't have time to get pictures but will do my best to get a couple this evening!

Thanks - it's hugely appreciated - we're new to campervans as we could only afford ours (Klaus) due to the generosity (or otherwise!) of our wedding guests!

We love him, but are very uneducated about him and are trying to find out more as it's difficult to find manuals etc as he's so old.

:)

The big red switch is the isolating switch which cuts the power from the batteries to the onboard items (lights etc)
