I have to collect my niece and her two sons off an early morning flight from the USA on Friday. Any suggestions for an overnight close to the airport and where to park while I go in to greet them as they come through security ?

There may be better options but I imagine parking in one of longterm carparks and using the shuttle bus should work.
If the minimum stay is paying for 24 hours maybe you could do a sneaky sleep over in the mh with the blinds drawn if you park up the night before.

The other week there was3 big vans in the red long term so van are allowed in ok and two had people inside,as regards waiting maybe wait in the filling station near the roundabout

If you mean the filling station by McDonalds, then don't. They clamp people who cross from the forecourt to McDonalds and vice versa from the McDonalds carpark to the forecourt shop. Do not set foot off the premises if your vehicle is there.

There are a couple of laybys along the side of the airport that people park up at, if you come off at the Ballymun exit of the M50 and take a left, then a right at the traffic lights, you'll see them.

Not sure I'd stay there overnight, but some might. It'd be a bitch of a walk with suitcases too. Just for the convenience of the bus to the airport carparks, I'd use them for the pickups.

There is a place near the airport where people plane spot. That is where I picked up my motorhome as a half way point from an owner and broker. They parked there until I arrived at the airport and then coke and got me. You could likely find it on Google maps not an overnight spot but somewhere to wait nearby until they are outside the terminal building.

Liam, If you make a booking for short term parking for 23/06 /22 entry 20.00 exit on 24th at 19.00 you will be offered the red car park for €14.50. then go up on the bus when the flight has landed to meet them.return on the bus, you can have a kip while waiting.
I entered my M/H number and it recognized it for what it is with no problem, the traffic wouldn't be too bad on the motorway at that time. I was in recently to collect and they are making it nearly impossible to collect anyone without going into a car park park.

No dont leave the van stay in it ,if your waiting,I’ve did it in cars,

No problems, I arrived about 9:30 Thursday evening and had to wait at the barrier for about 5 min for someone to come and show me where to park because of the length of the van. Quiet enough night apart from the planes. There seemed to be a lot of activity at 3:30 with people talking and car doors opening and closing for about half an hour. Got back to sleep shortly after and eventually woke about 7:45. I'd certainly use it again, 10 min walk to T2. Nobody said that I couldn't spend the night in the MH, but then again I didn't ask. ;-)
