Now remember, this is the lounge,so go easy,What would be anyones opinion on duration to become a fully fledged vanner , things you must have done at least once, thing’s you must never do again , were comming up on 2-3 years and even weve seen some rare stuff from camper/ mh owners

I love the showroom guys, a lifetime of practise. They arrive, while you're having a spot of lunch, and facinate everyone, while erecting, awning, safari room, laying out tables chairs, recliners if sunny, BBQ, then a walk in the park, cook the stake, while herself tosses the salad, two glasses of wine. when you drag yourself out of the bed in the morning to have the breakfast, 🍳Their gone? 🤔

I don’t think you ever become a fully fledged vanner. We have been doing this 39 years and still make mistakes but still learn something new when talking to others. Things have changed so much in the technology side sometimes I would like to go back to basics but I like the luxuries too much

I'm crap at this, I've been at it about 4 years and I still don't know how everything works properly. I've had two caravans which we really had a great time going around Ireland in over the last two years but I'd say if any of you happened to be beside me when we were setting up someplace I'd be the newbie you'd be laughing out your window at who hasn't a notion how to do things the right way.

I just recently upgraded to a camper and I'm going to spend a few months around the continent in it so I'm determined find out how to get the best from it this time. I'm no good on the electronics side at all, which will become very apparent on one of my next posts. As with all things in life, it's a learning curve and I'll pick it up along the way.

When you empty the cassette, don't know to use the button and get splash back on your face, then motorhome again.

You're then a motorhome veteran.

Drive off with the fridge door not locked…… and wallop, sausages everywhere !

Yeah I've done that, I've also drove off without a window secured properly in my first caravan and ended up with no toilet window!

Done exactly the same in a compass avant-garde motorhome, £375 to replace.

We I got on the road the first time i just drove it like your car, like every day after work and stop out the road and use everything, for a half an hour ,turn it all of ,go home, just to familiarise your self with it all.if you are as you say going to LIVE abroad in this for a month you’ll want to know it inside out
