Wasn't aware of that but was having a look on the roof and there's so much already there I'm not sure where I would put it.

The 100watt panel measures 1200mm long x 540mm wide or 48"x 22" to give you an idea of the space you will need.

I bought Insurance for a whole year yesterday from Stuart Insurance's for £270 sterling. I think that is quite good unless someone else can better it?

I bought some Mudbuster from Michelinman and tried it out on Saturday. Must say I'm very impressed with the results and very little effort. Also used it on Harry the Mehari and he's gleaming too. Can highly recommend.

A 120W solar panel and two new batteries, first time with a solar panel and we love the freedom it gives us, we were away for a week over Easter and only plugged in 4 hrs in total and then only to run a 2 KW hairdryer. Great job done by Hagans Ballyclare.

Nice bike Mister...

I've heard..... If you fit a "pillion seat" to the back fender on one of those sportster's, the ladies 'enjoy' going for spins. There is a specific seat you can buy that enhances the passenger experience.... it has a little raised bump on the front of the pillion seat that... well.... I'm sure you know why....

Can't bate the oul harley V twin vibrations eh..... ;-)

Bough a set of 35 mile Walkie Talkies on the spur of he moment. I will figure out later how I can use them. Could be good for sending Liz off on shopping sprees in France and able to contact her now and again without using the mobiles.

We bought a spare wheel while at Donaghey's at the weekend, hopefully won't need it on our trip to Spain next week..... Really should be standard in every motorhome!!! Cars would never be sold without a spare wheel and a dedicated storage space for it!! Also got some of that highly rated mudbuster and a one ring electric plate (useful on elec on campsites). Busy this week packing the van for our two month trip!

Mark, no they are Motorola and they are waterproof but not cheap 100 dollars. Will be interesting to see the range as it says in an open space with no obstructions.

Are the legal in the UK Jack?

If so, I might consider getting a pair.

Great time thanks, it was so good I left swmbo there to continue the work while I returned home. She managed to get the pool tiled (with the help of her son and his wife) which was the main reason for her staying behind. The weather improved (25deg) as soon as I got on the plane

Tried out me new purchase and reckon I was able to contact base over 12 miles away in a built up area in St Petersburg Fl with all the high rise buildings I reckon is ver good. Maybe I could have gone further and made contact.

That's impressive.

We bought a 4 pack of 5km (3mile) PMR cobra radios a few years ago in Maplins for around £90. (model MT600 I think). We never really got better than 1-2km range in densely built up areas (shopping centres, cities etc). In open spaces they achieve the rated distance and sometimes a bit more depending on the terrain, but in suburban or cityscapes, they suck if you get too far apart. Still, they're very handy and we use them a lot.

A 25 mile set should serve you well and being able to reach out 12 miles in a built up area is very good... Good Catch!

Yeah. Very good range.
We have similar to Kevin and find them handy but poor range at times also.

Yes it is, there was a change to the law to allow the PMR type ones to operate on a limited bandwidth/power/range without the need for a licence, but think back to the days of breaker breaker , did you care then if you had a licence or not. For what we as travelling tourists would use them for the chances of falling fowl of the law ie getting caught using them, is very slim.

The ones Jack has bought may still be legal, probably depends on the frequency they operate on, and are probably at the upper end of the power output range to acheive the didtance.
