That’s not something I’d be leaving long term anyway. Not going to be good no matter what

The second, I only noticed before leaving Portumna. As I approached the van I could see a low hanging pipe routed under the engine. Is this a fuel line? I couldn’t tell you. Steel tubing by the looks of it. I know the replacement engine was not an exact match and they had to do a bit of re-routing. But this is a fairly low hanging loop, about six inches clearance from the ground. It is just asking to be snagged by a branch or something.

I can post a pic to get some second opinions.

Don't forget Snow Socks are also legal where chains are mentioned.
For some motorhomes with limited clearance between the tyres and body trim or wheel arches socks might be a better option

Thats what I bought Colin. Easier fitted than chains too.

It's probably been asked many times before, but what exactly does a Ridge Monkey do? Toast sandwiches obviously, but what else makes it so special?

You do realize you have opened the door for Flipperdipper to pontificate on the said cooking utensil. In fairness he did give me a super panini in Bantry. ;-)
I think he will have to do a blog , cookery classes video.

Bought a ferry ticket for next year for France, and the lodge for the dog. Excluding the lodge it’s about €130 more than last year, mostly offset by my extra points. Leaving end of May

That’s correct john. We had a good look at it in September. You can stay outside on that deck all day with your dog if you want. We observed a lot of people doing exactly that. It’s not a huge area but sufficient, and it has some seats as well. Quite the little club out there tbh.

You will get two visits, might get a third, if they feel in the humour, same goes for us, re leaving a whirlwind in the camper for 18 hours. I’d say we’d be buying a tent to stay in when we got to Cherbourg. 💥

Jason...Obviously an oil light should not be coming on whilst engine is running but you say there's the correct amount of oil and its running fine. First thing I would do is get garage who installed engine to do an oil pressure test when engine is cold...fairly simple to do....It will then give you a clear indication and if pressure is within spec I wouldnt be too worried on that score.

Also...As the engine is not an exact match...It could be just an electrical mismatch with the wiring....Or is the correct weight of oil in the engine...that can affect pressures greatly....In fact...Oil light is more likely to come on when engine oil is very hot...not cold. Another thing it could be is a dodgy oil pressure switch or dodgy wires thats connected to it....Either way....Get them to check it out.

Another thought...At start-up the oil pump taking time to build pressure maybe??? Hopefully its none of these and just an electrical gremlin...

Yeah I brought it over to them yesterday John. I have to bring it back in on Wednesday to have the oil pressure looked at. It’s good to know they can check the pressure independently like that. Do they insert a pressure guage of some kind?

So, these are slightly not totally meeting government guidelines .. all yet to be proven… but I have some actual statistics.
Officially 80 km in eco mode. I have proved 25 km with 2- bar from 5 left, with full e drive. I can also alter the 25 km/h to 45km/h with one press of a button ( my button) , but who knows. Could be a ball of shite. Time will tell. As for charging, I can’t answer .. yet

Stena Rosslare to Cherbourg mid April to June 8 for 580 euro, can't complain about that price.
