Love these old mercs.
Rebuilt an engine for one once that had just turned 300K, only failed as a bumble bee hit the radiator and the woman drove it till it overheated !. That was back in the late 1980’s…… the car is going yet, but not in daily use obviously. Same people still own it and he just passed away about 3 months ago. The car still runs like a Swiss watch.
Wonderful cars.

I have a friend Currently restoring a 1982 300D, He bought it for something like €3000 and is getting all the work done by some guy up the country. the cost of the restoration is gone pear shaped with far more work and parts needed than budgeted for, he recons he will be lucky if he have it on the road for €20000

My thoughts on electric vehicles, they will last until the electrics fail.
By that time all electrics will be superseded and replacement parts obsolete.
What now? Scrap yard.

Some and I see others going for huge money. But they were milk floats, how many (compared to sporty cars) do you see of modern classics 🤔

I know a man called Ernie has one right enough.

Does ROI/Ireland/The Free State/Southern Ireland not have a checker online?

We can check all that here: https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax

Some on the ZV plate are NCT exempt but the one that has the NCT disc on windscreen will show the year of the car in bottom right corner 👍🏼

Not fondly I'd imagine. A neighbour would have had something similar to this back in the 1990's, it wasn't very old at the time but it was an absolute shitbox

I have a lot of time for Lada's and rear engined Skodas but FSO's were nasty
