I had a look at the way we came back the last time which was all right,

So I will go, N71. Inishannon, Bandon, then R586 Dunmanway, Drimoleague, continue on the R586 to the N71 at Kelinscarta.
West lodge hotel will be on the right about 3km.

I have been asked to do the check in, to save everyone, having to call in to the Hotel Reception on arrival. when you turn into the hotel, keep hard left and carry on down to the Aire, there are some new signs. I hope to be there Friday Morning, Find me when you get there, and I think it would probably be less complicated if you have Cash to pay at the same time.If you want too, €10 per Night.
( then I can go for the Milk :o O-) )

Anyone who has an interest in the Leisure center, It would probably have to be booked so contact them directly 027 50557.
For those who signed up and have cancelled for various reasons, I'm sorry you now can't attend, we will catch you again in the future,
But be assured we won't forget you and we will talk about you,at great length. :'( ;-)

Unavoidable family commitments mean we can't make it 🙁.
It's a great spot and the town has some lovely restaurants and interesting shops.
Have a nice weekend all and remember the shortest and quickest route from Bandon to Bantry is via the R586 not the N71

We are back to "the deep South" always hard to get that area motivated, at least a lot harder than North.

Do they put tranquillisers in your water Pat? 😁

Must be something in the water alright, I don’t have a list of names but it would be interesting to break down Munster by counties and add the numbers attending for each county.

We like to see if any other MHC stickers when we are parked up. In more southern region we see different club stickers (can't remember) though I think Phoenix Club is active particularly in Munster and they probably have their own regular meetings.

Left Dublin at 10am, thinking of breaking journey say Fermoy, but the going was good so kept going arriving at West Lodge at 3.30. Just started to rain 4.15.
We came N71 but continued on to Ballydehob and on up, still on N71 didn’t turn up way Martin (Sprinter had said in earlier post) and Ballydehob is a tight twisty road, clipped mirror but ok, but wouldnt like to be on it after dark.
Safe journey, see you tomorrow.

The N71 North from Ballydehob is not for the fainthearted.
To avoid it it's best to take the R593 and R594 from Skibbereen to R586 at Aughaville on the Drimoleague side of Bantry

I left home at 2.45 going was good no traffic, roadwork at Dunkettle trough in about 2min onto the N40. got there about 6pm. Definitely the way to go is, Bandon then right to Dunmanway R586, travelling in the dark, watch out for a couple of tight S bend on the R586 take heed of the signs other then that road is fine.

Alas, so near and yet so far. We have a prior engagement this weekend, grandchild-minding whilst the offspring enjoy a weekend away (oh the irony!) and my hopes for a last-minute cancellation have finally come to nothing.
Although we won't be around, the neighbours have asked if you could keep the noise down and generally behave yourselves.
On the plus side (and not to be confused with my previous money-making schemes) I will be offering various online services. For a small fee, (cash only, unmarked notes, no bit coins) I can provide a virtual online guidebook of the area, a handy West Cork phrase book so you can understand exactly what the locals are shouting at you.... and of course a bureau de change. Plus, for an additional fee, I have local contacts who will ensure safe passage when you all depart.
Have a great weekend, and don't forget to adjust your watches to Bantry Time!

Would love to have been able to get to this one but just not possible without taking kids out of school. I hope you all enjoy it and if anyone needs to pop out for milk at any stage, I recommend Ma Murphys.

Are ye all retired or what, heading off on a Thursday for your weekend. Flipperdipper is somewhere near Valentina a island I’m guessing at this stage. Me self , Panda, and Pat Chausson are working our fingers to the bone to keep all ye crumogedy old timers in diesel and Guinness

Here, Here, David. Well said 😂😂

That's rich, coming from a lad who has just returned from a jolly in France,
while we are here trying to find a way to spend the massive increase in our pensions.

The N71 North from Ballydehob is not for the fainthearted.
To avoid it it's best to take the R593 and R594 from Skibbereen to R586 at Aughaville on the Drimoleague side of Bantry

Thanks for the warning Colin, we're coming up from Schull, will have to use N71 ☹

You weren't joking Colin, and to make it worse the cloud was on the ground, don't know how they can call it an N road
