Does anyone know of a mechanic who can do a timing belt on an Aclass MH,my own mechanic doesn't want to do it and I can't find anyone else in the Kildare area , I know I can get it done in Donaghys but it's a long way and expensive main dealer

Dave,. if its not too far away for you, give Robbie Fox in Rathnew Co wicklow. 0868121358. a call he would have a slot in about 3 weeks, you would need to call him with the details of the engine type and year so he could give you an idea of costs

Dave.... Surely a nearest Commercial Vehicle garage would be able to sort it for you.

The problem seems to be the width and the weight won't go on their lifts

There are a lot out there with pits that could handle it. As John was saying I would be targeting a commercial mechanic. Only problem is if they have enough work they won’t fancy the hassle of doing something that they aren’t familiar with, the timing belt fitting will be no problem but accessibly might be a problem that could shy them off

That's why I recommend Robbie, he is a mostly a HD mechanic with a large workshop over a full length pit. And a reliable friend to have on the other end of a phone.

That's exactly the problem I'm having Pat, have found a commercial co locally, but haven't talked to them yet about the job
@sprinter have noted your mechanic thanks not too far either

http://www.logicfleet.ie/ on Broomhill Road in Tallaght have done a job for me in the past and service everything from cars to HGVs

Also, http://www.aplusservice.ie/ on Boghall Road in Bray got me out of a hole on the day of my CVRT retest when I discovered the night before that the dim reversing light was not a bad earth but the gearbox switch

Either one has lifts that could take your wagon and should do a timing belt without a bother

Autoline in Clane did a similar job for me a few years ago with no problems. Got the waterpump done at the same time too.
