Motorhome Security

Hi All
I am looking to get an alarm and a tracker. I see from other posts on this forum that people were recommending the Strikeback Growler. This alarm looks super and I especially like the loop it has for the bike rack. As far as I am aware I would have to go to the UK for this which is not practical as I live in Dublin. Has anybody for any recommendation for a similar alternative?.
Many thanks.
Jason

I have a strikeback in my van which was fitted in 2016 by leisuretechnicalsolutions at Lisburn (near Belfast).
Worth a phone call to see if he is still fitting them. I believe some English fitting agencies were not up to Vanbitz standard (system owners) and he Nick stopped franchises, but I don’t know wether Simon at leisuretechnicalsolutions had to relinquish his fitting service.

https://www.leisuretechnicalsolutions.co.uk/

Either way he should be able to recommend a good system having experience of installations.

Aa Davy has said Leisure Technical Solutions are an excellent company to deal with. First rate customer service. If he can't supply the Strikeback he'll be able to recommend an alternative I'm sure.

Have to agree with Davy and GMAC. Simon fitted an alarm to my vehicle 16 years ago and it has never given any bother

Jason glad you got sorted. Just out of curiosity was it the Strikeback alarm?

No,he doesn't do the Strike back anymore.
He gave me two other options and I went for Lockdown. The two functions I especially liked where the loop to alarm things like bikes or a trailer and if the van was to be stolen the engine can be shut down by the monitoring station. Its all very technical these days compared to my old alarm

How do that work? id imagine it wouldn't be very wise if it was turned off while the vehicle was crossing a busy junction

Sure if the cnut that stole it was driving it that would be a good place to bring it to a hault.😤

I think I'd prefer something more obvious, on my automatic the gear selector is locked unless the key is in place, and you have to put it in park, in order to remove the key.
How much would it cost to replace the whole gear change system, the fact that it's not visible, I reckon after some scumbag has got in, he will reef out the whole thing,

It takes 2 hours to fit it ,so I don't think it'll be reefed out too easily and the little sticker on the window will put the scumbag off 😁

External Hi-vis messaging that a vehicle/property is protected is always best. Without such messaging a lot of damage can be done before 'invisible' security measures are encountered by a criminal.
