Covid 19

I've just finished watching a very moving, frightening and informative documentary on RTE investigates, part two tomorrow night. It was all about the patients and front-line staff in ICU in St James hospital in Dublin. It's incredible what the nursing and support staff have to go through, we can never, never repay them for the work they do. I couldn't help thinking of "Jack the Rev", he must be in the thick of it and needs our prayers, support, karma, positive vibes or whatever it is you believe in. I hope he's ok and he'll be back with the craic before too long. For anyone thinking of moving off the island later in the year........DON'T..... the risks are still out there and it's just not worth it.

Exactly that. I watched similar programs then sat annoyed at the idiots that think it's not actually happening.

Yeah, a rethink of going away this winter may be required, or at least re-evaluated when we see how this develops.
I cannot see how we avoid a second peak or even a third.

Agreed re: our frontline staff, workers and People at the coal face. Our gratitude and thanks cannot thank them enough and the least we can do is abide to advice and try to prevent virus spread leading to a second wave. Afraid that this won’t be the case though. ☹

Ditto: Jack the Rev, hoping he is OK and thoughts go out to him.

The advice from all the top medical people seems to be no unessential foreign trips , anywhere could get a spike in infections and you wouldn't know it and then maybe bring it home to your family and friends

Well I have to say my upcoming trip to Spain is essential and I intend to isolate all the way there and take precautions when there by not mixing where possible. A second spike is inevitable especially now that complacency has set in with a lot of the public.

This is a rather interesting risk assessment by the Texas health Authorities. How accurate it is is unknown in my view given the multitude of unknowns and variables as the pandemic continues, but useful nonetheless.
