26 yr old would need testing alright,

There is an exemption for I think its something like pre1970 but I could be wrong on the exact year,

One of the craicers will be on later that knows the craic with it,

Since May 2018:

Vintage vehicles first registered before 1 January 1980 which are being used solely for non-commercial purposes do not need roadworthiness testing
Vehicles registered after 1 January 1980 but over 30 years old which are being used solely for non-commercial purposes must undergo compulsory roadworthiness testing every two years instead of annually.

Ah yes, it's the most dreadful time of the year for us and our older vans :)

You'll soon learn which places to go and which ones to avoid too. Maybe you'll have another craicer that might be able to give you advice on where to go within your area.
