Just tonight it has been released that the ferry due to leave Liverpool for Dublin has been refused permission to leave port due to a demand for a £600,000 payment due.
Ongoing discussions are taking place.

I would think that it is about time someone took the upper hand with ferry company's. The relealing part of the article is.

While we understand that we are in unprecedented times, the UK Government has announced multiple financial interventions that will support companies with short-term funding issues as a result of Covid-19.

"These should be used as opposed to passing the cash flow risk along the supply chain."

In other words the are not paying the small suppliers around the port.
And that needs to be stomped on in a big way. Every small operator will know that in this and other countries, that the big guys feels they can keep their profit margins by not paying the small people.

P&O built a brand new Roll on and Roll off at Mostyn on the Wirral but did not get it right as they closed the gates after a short time and walked away, They went back to the old berths in Liverpool.
