This used to be a problem with motorcruisers, perhaps not with motorhomes in normal circumstances.
Now that the van is laid up for the next 3 months +, should i fill tank full of diesel and perhaps add a drop of diesel bug additive.

The short answer is YES and it can result in very expensive repairs.

I run a few treatments Of This through the fuel systems of my diesel vehicles every now and again.

I have never heard about this. I keep a few litres of diesel in a fuel can. It must be 3 years old by now. Is it useless? I could pour it into a clear bottle and inspect it.

BTW, would you not give your van a little spin once a week Ritchie?

Many thanks - thought that might be the case. Think i will fill up and add a bit of Soltron diesel treatment.

A regular spin is good and bad.
The good is that it keeps seals, tyres, bearings and other bits from hardening and drying out.
The bad is in modern common rail diesels surplus fuel is returned to the tank, this fuel being hot after being up to the engine creates warmth in the fuel tank which facilitates condensation when any air space in the tank cools down, this in turn provides water to support the grow if the diesel bug. That's why it is advised to keep the tank full (no air space) particularly over winter.
