Uploading photo's

I cant upload a photo from my phone here.
It says my photo is to big, has to be under 29.3KB
I'm useing a Samsung S7. when I go into camera settings it's set at 16.9 (9.1M) 4032x2268
What ever all that means ?
I have no trouble uploading to other sites Ebay, Hotmail, Gumtree etc.
What do I need to change ??????

Billy, that is the resolution and pixel size. It’s set much too high for ‘normal’ use and it makes the image file size way too big.
Try and set it lower, for this site a resolution of 800x600 is big enough and loads easily......
But, have a look at the settings and drop the resolution down and it will cure the problem in any photos you take from here on.

Billy, download an ‘image resizer’ from the play store. Shrink the images down to 800x600 for uploading.

Still can't upload a photo here ?? I have tried the camera that I used to use here a few years back before the site was revamped.
Below is the message I get both using the phone and camera.
As Jon suggested I downloaded a phone app called Lit Photo and reduced the photo to the smallest possible size but still getting the same message.
Can upload photo's anywhere else on the net ??

The file you are trying to upload is too big or invalid. The maximum size allowed per file is 29.3 KB.
The file type you want to upload is not allowed.

I reckon you should log out. Refresh and log back in. The size allowable is way bigger than that now.

I tried a load of times last night trying to reduce a photo for uploading but every time I got the quality below 29k it was that fuzzy it was not worth uploading so gave up. I am fairly tech savvy too. Got the same message as above for anything even slightly over 29k

29.3 doesn't compare to any setting, I'm trying to figure out what you're doing.

I have the limit set to 6 or 7 meg from memory.

Got it to work this time but it will do the usual and rotate the photo on me. I had been using the “add attachments” instead of the little blue camera icon. Been a while since so had uploaded a photo so just forgot how I did it last time.

I tried to add this to the “Where did you go in your Motorhome today” thread. Front garden but the military came to enforce the lockdown anyway. 😁

Add/edit attachments is for files such as pdf.

It didn't rotate your image, it uploaded how you took it, but I'm not going there again 😂😁

Must have flipped my photo as I checked again and I took it in portrait so my phone was not on its side. I’ll let an admin flip it so you don’t have to go there again. 😬

Your phone not being in its side is why it's the wrong way around. Phones and tablets should be on their side when taking a picture and not like Facebook has fooled everyone into changing.

However more capable photo technology than PHP would allow the software to recognise what way up the photo should be, we don't have that benefit and probably never will.

I have an iPhone and find the orientation often gets changed when uploading. A trick that usually works is to use the photos app to edit the picture to crop it slightly, after saving it is usually correct when uploaded.

6 years ago I swapped my iPhone 5 for the 6. Gave the 5 to my daughter 3 years later got the 7, gave the 6 to my wife. 1.5 years ago changed to the 8 purely cos daughter broke the 5. She now has the 7. Wife still has the 6. All are working perfectly, as was the 5 until it was broken, just battery life had shortened noticeably on it. Go way out of that, with your 2 years 😁😁

Yes but in 6 years my battery life wil be the same, Apple purposely affect battery life, anyhow, this is an old argument and as market share shows, Apple is inferior.

Also I think you need the AA Apple Anonymous, upgrading for the sake of it, jjf is still on iPhone .5
