Recommend a NSAI Approved Test Centre Dublin

Hi All
Am a new user.
Just moved to Dublin from UK and planning to import a Campervan.
My understanding is. .....The van will need to be Inspected and a Declaration of Conversion
issued .
Van-can then be reregistered as Motor Caravan.
( I realise VRT will be payable on NCTS valuation - not UK purchase price)

Can anyone please recommend a suitable Approved Test Centre
in Dublin.

Thanks in advance

Bob

Welcome to the Craic, I don't know about test centres in Dublin but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly. If you are moving your residence from another country to Ireland and the vehicle has been in your possession for more than 6 months then there is no VRT or import duty to be paid. I may be corrected on that but it was the position the last time I checked.

A couple of very relevant questions
Is the vehicle already listed as a motor caravan on its registration certificate (V5C in UK)
As flipperdipper says, have you owned the vehicle for at least six months

The answers to both those questions will make a significant difference to the process here.

Thanks for responses.
Van is NOT registered as Motor Caravan on VC5
After checked VCR Ireland web site and speaking to both insurers
and professional van converters in Ireland , I believe it meets all criteria for it to be re registered
as a Motor Caravan in Ireland.
My understanding is that I will need a ‘Declaration of Conversion Of A Vehicle ‘ form to be signed
of by a NSAI Approved Test Centre prior to presenting van to NCTS for inspection.
(VRT will calculate value - and 13.3 % VRT will be payable)
I can access list - but am keen to get some personnel recommendation
of Centre in Dublin.
VRT will be payable on vehicle as not owned/ used in UK for 6 months prior to importing to Ireland.

Thanks for your responses

Bob
