Storage pockets

So I picked up a few these storage pockets online, ages ago. They are the net type, with elasticated nylons bands. Handy for storing everything from maps to mobile phones. I just don’t know how I should stick them on. I want to attach them to the hard vinyl back of a driver’s and passenger’s seat. And inside a wardrobe door. So hard surfaces basically.

How would you stick ‘em? I know what ever I do will ultimately fail and leave a mess.

3m doub sided tape is good stuff,

Lidl or Aldi have rolls for around €3 or €4 every so often,
Worth throwing a roll in the basket next time its in

Yes I have a feeling the answer lies in double sided tape and 3M. I even used double sided 3M tape to stick on a solar panel on my roof. But elasticated nylon fabric to hard backed vinyl? Any particular 3M product?

3M VHB tape will stick down a panel. It should come with a warning that says - “You’ve got one chance to stick that panel down in the right place and one chance only.”

Heavy duty Velcro might be another possibility. At least you could remove the pocket if you needed to. It may require sewing onto the fabric.

Yep that sounds like it would work. Sow the Velcro to the fabric side and stick the other side. I might try that out. Cheers Kabundi.

I stuck mine on with the sticky backed velcro strips that came with the pockets. :P :-)

I found the Velcro heavy duty did not stick very well on vinyls -ok on metal. But if you use the 3M double sided tape first and velcro on top it holds very strongly.

Good tip Grumpy. So I had a length of 3M velcro. I discovered that that one side already stuck to the storage pocket to be attached. So the hook side (I think, if that’s the furry side) , Already sticks very well to the storage pocket liner, without any need to attach the loop side on the pocket. So all I had to do is now stick the hook side on the vinyl surface of the seat That seems to have worked very well. But I ran out of the 3M stuff, so went out and bought the Velcro heavy duty brand to stick to the wardrobe door. I’m not sure if that is sticking to the laminate door very well. I’ll leave it overnight. If it doesn’t work as well I’ll try your trick.
