Hi,

Just wondering if normal household battery operated smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are standard for using in a van conversion? Probably a stupid question, but better to ask before I buy!! Any recommendations? Thanks again

The carbon monoxide alarms such as fireangel can be bought on amazon etc. They seem to get a good name. The one that I have highlighted is the one that I use. It has a 7 year battery life. Carbon monoxide is only slightly heavier than air so I have read of some placing one near the ceiling (there being lots of vents usually at low level) and a second at about head height when lying down in the bed.

With regard to the smoke alarm, I would suggest one that is not triggered by burning the toast. Probably best placed slightly away from the hob and oven. We use something like this.
