I was organising some motorbike gear over the weekend.

As I was riffling through a tank-bag, this old Nokia fell out of one of the pockets. I had brought it on a camping trip a couple of years ago (as a spare phone) when I was having problems with my iphone.

I couldn't believe when it fired right up and still had 50% battery.

Pretty impressive for an old phone.

I have one the same and a later one. They get used every now and again when family break their smart phones.

Might go back to one permanently myself, a life without pings!!

Trying to type a text message on the thing nearly resulted in it flying across the room, goddam predictive text!
We take a lot for granted with how easy it is to use smartphones.

I need to dig out a charger for it and top up the credit. I might just start using it for the reasons you've mentioned Ally.

A simpler life not enslaved to a smartphone sounds pretty good.

It's certainly getting to that stage, god damn ridiculous the amount of life wasted on a smart phone. I've said it before...... online use was bad enough when you had to go to a PC to do it, now that we carry it everywhere we go it's beyond necessary or even enjoyment.
