Propane water heater on butane?

I bought a camplux 6l water heater and I plan on putting a flue and venting it but I was wondering would it still run on butane? I have a 30mbar bulkead regulator and a bottle of campingaz 907 because it's mostly for Europe. It's says on I the instructions that it requires propane and a 37mbar regulator. I asked camplux and they said its ok on 30mbar regulstor propane but not butane. Would it not be as efficient or would it be dangerous?

Can't say anything safety wise but I'd go for propane

Propane all the way, butane stops working when the temperature drops down to around +2C

I know that but I wouldn’t get too hung up on it. I used Butane for 5 years in the last Motorhome in all kinds of weather and it never froze. If the bottle was outdoors I am sure it would but in cold weather we used the gas heater and I’m sure it kept the temp in the gas compartment above whatever temp it freezes at. Butane is more freely available than propane. We now use propane as that came with the Motorhome

I agree Pat, 5 years with butane in current van and never had a problem in winter.

We had butane not gassing off in France once, was at freezing point and gas heater running. Last year in Spain we and another mhc member had the same issue as temps drop low inland overnight ... switched over to propane and had no problems since.
