Van conversions have had difficulty being classed as campervan / motorhomes for the past year. The UK government DVLA would only classify them as "van with windows". They have released the new requirements in October and this YouTube clip gives an idea of the new requirements. Hi tops rather than pop tops, motorhome graphics, 2windows on one side, a separate door etc.

Wouldn't you love to know the mind set of who ever came up with the new regulations. Or is it another example of the UK ruling classes prevalence to having major brain farts?.

So, the DVLA say a van conversion becomes a van with windows and not a motor caravan as per the EU Definition of Vehicle Categories and Vehicle Types.
Do they still leave it categorised as a goods vehicle or do the recategorise it is a passenger vehicle?

If the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) inspect the finished project and certify it's a motor caravan how can the DVLA argue the toss. https://www.vehicle-certificat…ravans.asp
