Dublin Ferry Port

As our departure for France looms ever closer, we're preparing for our first experience of Dublin Port as opposed to Rosslare. (Thanks very much, Irish Ferries....tough on the West Cork customers, not to mention the good people of Rosslare btw)
Anyway, we're still looking for an overnight stop reasonably near the port.
We could use Camac Valley, but would prefer somewhere closer (and cheaper!)....so can anyone recommend a guaranteed place to park up? By that, I mean somewhere that they have recently used with no problems. Thanks in advance btw.

I don’t know what direction you are coming from Tony, But we overnighted a few months ago in the Salmon Leap Leixlip, we had intended going to Camac but they were closed before we left home. We had a peaceful nights sleep in a secure Car park at the rear after a couple pints and had breakfast there also as a thank you for the free nights parking. We phoned ahead before arriving and were told we were very welcome.

Coal Harbour Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, 4e/Day or 2e/hour until 8 pm. Then across the east link to the port, toll cost €1.40.
If you include a small detour to D4 fuels recommended ( one of the cheapest in Dublin ) about 45 min including the fill.

Go south on the M50 to Dún Laoghaire ( no Toll ) plenty of Resturants and pubs within 10 min walk.

Thanks for the tip, but does that mean overnight parking is ok, or just daytime?

Are you sure you don’t pay overnight in Coal Harbour?
Also when you go over East Link bridge Toll, going towards Dublin Port if you need fuel, turn down East Wall you will see Lidl/McDonalds on left and on opposite side Aldi with, Campus for fuel next door, usually good price
.
When finished retrace your steps back up East Wall Road and turn left and swing around into Dublin Port.

Daffysparks I don’t know D4 service station where is it?

Rosemary, you only pay 8to8 €4 for the day.
D4 fuel's is on the corner of Baggot lane and Northumberland Rd. Ballsbridge .Diesel €1.25.9.
Then if going to the port, drive on to the lights turn right on to Haddington rd, (R111) then down Bath ave, Londonbridge rd, Sean Moor rd ( R131) to the Roundwood and then the East Link Toll.

Martin we go coast road from Dun Laoghaire, through Blackrock, cross railway track at Merrion Gates, Sandymount, East Link toll, rarely go via Ballsbridge. Unless a huge saving, I wouldn’t go out of my way, too many traffic lights, I don’t know why I always get red even when no traffic.
