Hi,
Has anyone overnighted at St Mary's Church, as shown on the app?
Presumably Dock St is a now not possible...or is it?

We are hoping to go there in a week or two.
If St. Mary's is not a good spot does anyone have any preferences of the 2 campsites....or any suggestions at all of spots to stay!
Thanks

Spaces look a little car sized on Google maps but I see some grass hangover places. Looks like anyone can use it for day parking for Galway so it could be popular. Same as the docks I suppose.

IIRC over beside the wall there is large bays, not in the Church grounds.

It looks set up for it. This picture was taken moments ago outside the church car park. They’re even advertising it as an aire! 😉

How many people are going understand that ? i don't. And with the color most will think its a warning sign.

Just for the record, I was only kidding. It is a warning sign. To any visitors not familiar with our national tongue, ‘Aire’ means warning ⚠

Yes it did look a bit like “Actung!” Looks like it is warning of mines ahead. Fines ahead maybe...

Often wondered if visitors would think lots of small towns in Ireland were incredibly motorhome friendly!!

"Aire" is Irish for attention. Usually seen on road signs and very common road marking outside schools.

Conversely, Makes you wonder if all the Irish speaking motorhomers are staying in camp sites because they are concerned about French aires!

We do have the app and Dock St is still on it. Is this because our app is not updating for some reason?
I have clicked the update button...
St Mary's sounds good tho, thanks.

We are parked in the Galway cathedral car park and it's great. €5 a day and a lovely 10 minute stroll to the city centre. Very safe.
