A great spot. Coleman is deserving of support for what promises to be a great weekend.
While in the area why not check out the new motorhome parking area in Castletownbere too and the cable car at Dursey Sound plus the lovely beach at Ballydonegan.
Spend the whole week enjoying the Beara Peninsula

What a pity it’s so far away? I would love to go but the distance is off putting. It looks as if it’s going to be a fabulous week end. It has given me food for thought maybe make a weeks break out of it?

We discovered the Beara Peninsula last year and will definitely be back this summer.

Who is running this meet? And how many Motorhomes can it accommodate? I was talking to a Motorhomer last night and she made out this meet is been organized by another Facebook Group with no connection to Mhc, anyone know if that is true or is it the owners that are running it? I must say it sounds great, we are nearly 3 hrs away too, It is tempting though but would need to extend the length of the stay to justify the journey.

This was being run by a group that then split up. Colman from Eyeries is running it now and he can take 70 vans.

I will ask him to advise in here.

Hi. So yes it was originally being organised by a certain MH group.
Numbers hit 70 and sold out. Due to some complications outside of my control them numbers are back to 30 so I decided to take on the wknd myself and fill ALL spaces. I’m only a year in action so I’m new to the game. I’m just looking forward to show casing my stunning village of Eyeries and all its beauty and Beara Peninsula in general. It’s a slice of heaven down here. 👍👍

Brilliant Colman, Wasn't sure if the information I was given was true as I don't the know the Motorhomer in question, I just met her coming out of her Motorhome at the Motorway service area in Fermoy, I was driving the Car. it must be a big split if Numbers dropped to 70 from 30, she was spitting fire about who ever was running it anyway.
Mrs Chausson booked it with you Today and we are really looking forward to the weekend, Colman.

"Another Facebook group"? We are not a Facebook group, thank god.

Some people just think they know everything and really know bugger all.

If this meet was organised by another group, it wouldn't be on MHC.

A review by Robert Foley:

Quote

We popped down the road to Eyeries motorhome park on Friday and spent the weekend there. I must say, it was the most enjoyable weekend I've had since we got our camper 14 months ago. Lovely set up, donkeys in the field behind for entertainment, cafe at the entrance, playground across the road with a pedestrian crossing outside from the cafe to the playground , secure roller gate so no one in there that shouldn't be in there. Although there were campers coming and going through the weekend, the best word I can use to describe it is "Serene". It's a lovely spot to just "be". €10 a night, €15 with EHU. Rob went off cycling & exploring and left me with the dogs to happily craft (cross stitch & crochet). It was lovely to just sit and listen to birdsong, watch the birds flit from tree to tree, hear the wind rustling the trees & grass and just relax. Properly relax!
The village is stunning. Its so colourful. There's some lovely art along the road and benches made of logs with bits sliced out so you can sit. I was hugely impressed with the Sensory garden. What a fantastic idea. It has little info signs on each of the senses, what plants for touch, taste and smell such as crushing (touch) thyme in your hands (releasing the smell) and tasting- though the sign does recommend not eating anything from the garden! Sound is from the little stream running through it, with 2 different water sounds at each end. Theres public toilets up the other end of the town which are spotless, and both male and female have disabled ones in each. Both ladies and gents were clean and stocked with toilet paper - not what you see in many places these days. They've done a really great job in the village, it looks so well.
We ate in Cindy's Gems Cafe and struggled with choice. There was far too much choice !! I can recommend the steak sandwich on ciabatta, and the chicken Caesar burger with all the additions. Real home made proper chips too. The desserts were plentiful and very tasty, though we did have to stop at three after dinner 😂 Even asking for a pot of tea, you're offered a choice. There's a fantastic range for breakfast there, 2 pages long 😲 If you're down there, do pop in, its all delicious! The ice cream cones are gorgeous, solid enough not to be runny and fall over, but soft enough to lick and enjoy.
We didn't realise the village was so close and had a few shops, so we arrived stocked from another town, as if we would be in the middle of nowhere, but we know for next time that we don't need to. I met Colman the owner and he has done a lovely job there, a great secure spot that we will definitely return to. I dunno if I'm allowed say it or not, but has a very clever idea for when you are leaving. It's something simple, but I reckon it's worth it's weight in gold 😁Descriptions on the pics — with Rob Foley.

Thinking of heading away Thursday evening and stop someplace on the way too, was thinking of Kinsale or tots pub if it is not too far off the route there. There can’t be too many places left I would imagine if anyone were thinking of going.
