Hi all

We have a problem with the water in our 1998 Mercedes hymer in so far as it will not shut off when you turn off the taps. We have to turn it off from the main switchboard. Any help in solving the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

Is the water failing to switch off on kitchen and bathroom or just one place.
There are micro switches in each tap.
Obviously only in one tap may mean faulty micro switch.
We had a problem with the kitchen tap in our '98 Hymer. The wires got trapped and damaged.
The top should pull off the tap revealing the switch and wiring.
I repaired it with some small heat shrink preventing the wires from shorting within the tap.

Is it a pressurised system? (Could be the pressure switch)

Is the pump inside the tank or outside ?
What part if the country are you as a craicer may be local that would have a bit of knowledge and tell you what the problem is,

Post a PIC of the pump if possible

I would say one of the tap switches is shorted ( the contacts closed ) and the pump thinks that the tap is open.
Can you go around each tap in turn to see if one of the contact switches is permanently closed. by either taking off one of the wires and switch the pump on each time yo see if it runs. Or check across the tap wires with a meter for continuity with the power off, you should have none with the taps closed.

I think it is a microswitch issue - the wires can weld together and give the on signal to the pump.
Strip it out and see

You should hear the microswitch in the tap clicking when you open and close the tap.Check each tap individually.Indentify which tap that you have a problem with. You can buy new microswitches. Disconnect the wires under the tap while you await repair. You probably have Comet Roma tap in the kitchen sink in your 1998 hymer.
