Yeah.
It seems the more "techo gadgets" fitted, the more problems for the industry.
I wonder this happening because of design shortfalls at the manufacturers, or dealerships not having done proper pre delivery checks?

I'm not surprised to see BMW at the bottom of the list.

The BMW timing chain issue certainly put a lot of people off ever buying one again.

I had an issue recently with my Landrover Discovery in that I was getting warning of gearbox faults, no ecco mode available, radio going off with a bang etc, the problem was one of the battery terminals was not pinched tight, the terminal was not loose just not tight enough!

The more expensive they are the more seems to go wrong with them, my 20 year old Daewoo Musso will still start and go despite not having done so for over 12 months, kept going when it ruptured a high pressure fuel line (Paris to Barcelona!!!) all because no electronics to tell it otherwise.

And as for push button starting, are people too lazy to turn a key I don't think so, auto headlights and wipers that 90 % of the time you have to turn on manually anyway 😡

Batteries are crucial to most cars these days, no longer can you let a dieing battery struggle on. Electrics need full power. My peugeot went bonkers recently, voltage drop and the Semi Automatic gearbox couldn't go into neutral to start the engine.

Error codes had to be cleared after installing a new battery.

That and the fuel pump issues and electrical issues.

BMW have gone to the dogs recently.

Pity. Nice looking cars.

I would have considered myself a BMW fan, having have a number of 520D's over the years. That was until the timing belt snapped on the last one with only 70K on the clock. Suffice to say I had serious words with BMW and eventually got a somewhat satisfactory remedy out of them (subject to signing a confidentiality agreement ... Shhhhh :-) )

I changed to Volvo recently and I am very happy with the change. I only have it a few weeks and it would take a lot to get me back in the BMW.

I tend to treat these surveys with a pinch of salt as sample size can have a bearing on overall ratings. BMW has had a well publicised major recall with EGR problems on recent Diesel models. Then another manufacturer survey will publish a completely different set of results...

My 2 cars are Peugeot and Skoda. I had 2 E Class Mercs and had nothing but bother with them. The Skoda hasn’t coughed in 6 years of ownership

Don't you just love these.
Me whilst working had 5 Ford Mondeo all 2lt D each did 80,000 and problem yes 1 an injector failed after 70,000, my last company car I bought and my neighbour bought it of me now pushing 200,000 and 2 injectors failed and nothing else apart from usual things wearing out.

Had a Honda CRV for 6 years no problems and my Lexus (not even on the list and no it is not built like a Toyota) is sweet as a nut problems Nil
:D
