Gas boiler water dump

Ran the gas system yesterday and everything is running as it should. This morning looked out and the boiler was dumping water. Had a look and the drainage switch was down. It was 3 degrees and according to the manual at 8 degrees it trips and dumps the water to prevent freezing. Fair enough, I know it works.
Here's the thing, 8 degrees isn't uncommon here and at night when we are away in it, will it dump the water from the system every time it hits 8 degrees.?
I'm sure there's a simple answer and I know someone here has it.

It doesn't dump, no matter how cold it gets, if the boiler/heater is turned on.
If it's below 8°c outside and you're away it's probable the heating will be on all night anyway.

Mine also dumps at 8 degrees. But it's 8 degrees ambient temperature.

As baguette says, if the heating is on, it will be above that. The area where my switch is located, is probably the warmest area in the Motorhome. Therefore it all works fine.

First night home with all switched off and she dumps again.

Mine also dumps but not until the temp drops to 0% but as long as the temp is above 0%in the camper it won’t dump no mater how cold it is outside

A clothes peg will sort that for you. Just don’t forget to remove it when the trip is over. When we arrive home I release it manually anyway along with dumping waste and any fresh water left in system. Better safe than sorry
